Afrojack ft. Shermanology – Can’t Stop Me (Original Mix)

afrojack-shermanology-cant-stop-me-anthem-1

Stop what you’re doing and listen to “Can’t Stop Me,” finally released today on Afrojack’s Wall Recordings. We’ve had low-quality radio and YouTube rips in our libraries for months, but listening to the official release makes us certain: this track is going to be HUGE. It will appeal to longtime Afrojack lovers and late-to-the-game EDM fans alike, straddling the line between electro house and mainstream dance-pop. Its lead synths are a little softer than those of “Take Over Control,” Afrojack’s last big crossover hit, and Shermanology’s vocals are lyrically simple but beautifully sung. Enjoy the fleeting feeling of superiority that comes from knowing “Can’t Stop Me” before your friends, because soon it will be everywhere. This is the sound of 2012, people.

EDX & Nadia Ali – This Is Your Life (Teaser)

laidback-luke-EDX-LAVO1

This is the fourth single off EDX’s album “On The Edge,” which is set to release this spring. EDX recently released “Give It Up For Love” alongside John Williams and “Falling Out Of Love.” Both of these tunes feature the pleasant melodies that we have come to love from Maurizio Colella (EDX), but “This Is Your Life” is completely different. Not only is this much harder than normal EDX productions, but it has a driving bassline that encapsulates Nadia Ali’s voice. During the drop you can even hear a hint of dubstep that meshes perfectly with the energy of the track. We love this new style from EDX and we think you will too.

Zedd turns the creepy up to 11 with “Slam the Door” official video

As if Zedd’s electro-house banger, “Slam the Door” – which features a sample from an obscure YouTube video – wasn’t odd enough, the official video turns the creepy up to 11. There is something unsettling about the high contrast salivating that is mesmerizing and nauseating all at the same time – we just can’t look away.  Kanye West may have told us to throw our diamonds in the sky, but Zedd wants us to throw up our L’s and drool on ourselves.

Tickets for Hard Summer 2012 go on sale today

When EDC broke up with Los Angeles in the summer of 2010, she left a hole in our hearts. It wasn’t easy to let her go. She was so beautiful, and LA was her home. But deep down, we knew that it was time for her to move on. The romance was over. She needed to discover who she was outside of our relationship. Her new boyfriend, Las Vegas, would would care for her, inspire her, and give her everything she needed to grow into the festival she dreamed of becoming. When we visited EDC Vegas in 2011, we were amazed by her progress. She’d grown up so much. We were happy for her. Deep down, though, we knew that we still missed her. She’d always be our first love.

But there was another pretty young festival in town. Her name was HARD Summer, and we’d always thought she was kind of cute. She was a little edgier and forward-thinking than EDC. Her father, Gary Richards, had raised her differently. Gary didn’t want HARD wearing kandi or hanging out with teenagers wearing pacifiers. He wanted her to become a proper music festival, a place where music lovers could celebrate their favorite artists and discover infatuating new talent. He wanted HARD Summer to create the LA music scene of tomorrow. (more…)

John De Sohn ft. Andreas Moe – Long Time (Andy Harding & Alex Sayz Remixes)

alex sayz

John De Sohn teams up with the vocalist (Andreas Moe) from Avicii’s “Fade Into Darkness” to create “Long Time,” which was released in early December. The remix package features two underrated producers in Andy Harding and Alex Sayz. Both remixes are unconventional and add a little more power than the sensitive original mix. The nitty gritty is below.

John De Sohn ft. Andreas Moe – Long Time (Andy Harding Remix)

If you enjoy distortions and a ton of grunge check out the drop on Andy Harding’s remix. Andreas Moe’s vocals get chopped up numerous times throughout the track and during the build up his voice turns robotic. Hardcore electro fans will enjoy this one.

John De Sohn ft. Andreas Moe – Long Time (Alex Sayz Remix)

While this remix still falls under the progressive category – it is crazy. Think Albin Myers mixed with a touch of Sidney Samson. This is one of those remixes that would do well at a massive festival with the lights going crazy and everyone jumping around.

Skrillex & The Doors – Breakn’ A Sweat (Zedd Remix) [Preview]

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXkrRIYVllY&feature=player_embedded

Shave It” was Zedd’s most prominent track of 2011 (we know he had a couple of really good tunes), and the young producer recently dropped another electro gem called “Slam The Door.” Initially, we thought he might take a little break before he started with the fire again. Put it this way – we were completely wrong. Zedd’s remix of “Breakn’ A Sweat” is a winner from start to finish. Whether you like pumping your fists, grinding on girls, or starting a mosh pit this needs to be on your next playlist. If you ever needed a good kick in the ass to start your day – play this and you’ll be good to go.

Release Date: TBD

Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl ft. Georgi Kay – In My Mind (Axwell Mix) [Preview]

Tip your hat for the folks from down under, because these Aussies have really taken it to the next level. Ivan Gough is one half of the famous duo TV Rock and Feenixpawl is made up of Aden Forte and Josh Soon (two Aussie up and comers). Georgi Kay indie vocals are perfect for a tune that is very similar in structure to Dirty South’s “Walking Alone.” Much like the previous ‘big’ release on Axtone (“Resurrection“), Axwell applies his touches onto what should be one of the more prominent releases of the year.

Release Date: January 30th

Tiesto ‘In The Booth’ episode 2 now available online: what happens in Vegas, ends up on YouTube

Yesterday we brought you part 1 of Tiesto’s “In The Booth” series, and today we’re back with part 2. This installment shows what happens when Tiesto comes to Las Vegas, and plays not only one party in Sin City, but two. Tiesto takes us to Wet Republic for a slamming pool party and then to the Joint, where he talks about his residency — which has since moved to XS at Wynn / Encore — and deals with a slight power issue. We’re loving this whole video series, so stay tuned for even more.

David Puentez ft. Max C – Things We Do 4 Love (Various Mixes)

David Puentez uses the brilliant vocals of Max C to create his latest single “Things We Do 4 Love.” This is actually his older tune “Melodrama” that was incredibly successful and compared to more than a few Avicii-esque tracks. Miss Nine, Christian Falero, and Adrian Villaverde take their turns remixing an already fabulous tune. Let’s dive into the details below.

Miss Nine creates a sexy rendition of “Things We Do 4 Love” (or maybe it’s just her?). It is not quite as uplifting as the original mix, but it is what you would envision being played at a club at 4 AM. The synths are much stronger and at approximately at 3:37 the drums start kicking in creating a whole new sensation of euphoria. Don’t sleep on Miss Nine – the hottest new celebrity to join the ranks of EDM.

Christian Falero and Adrian Villaverde use elongated pauses during the build up which creates more than a few spine tingling moments. The drop is much more Swanky Tunes-esque and it definitely has more tech oriented moments than the original mix. If you love horns and the traditional steam gun sound you will absolutely love this remix.

Arty vs. Axwell & Dirty South vs. Deniz Koyu vs. Eurythmics – Around The Sweet Tung Disposition (Deniz Koyu Mashup)

Deniz-Koyu

Deniz Koyu recently featured this mashup on Max Vangeli’s latest podcast. It was the first track he dropped in his guest mix and it immediately caught our attention. Not only does it combine some of the most recognizable tracks in house music (“Tung,” “Sweet Disposition,” and “Around The World“), it just flat out works. Enjoy this Koyu gift while we wait for the release of his highly anticipated remix (announced on Twitter yesterday) of Fedde Le Grand’s “So Much Love.” If you thought that was all that was in tow, there is also a big collaboration with Deniz, Fedde, and Johan Wedel set to release shortly.
