Feed Me announces the Teeth Tour: 25 North American dates, 20-foot LED teeth

Feed Me recently toured around with deadmau5 as part of Meowington Hax, but now that it’s 2012 he’s getting his own traveling roadshow — and he’s going big. Consisting of over 25 shows, Feed Me will be bringing a 20-foot wide set of LED teeth with him from Seattle across the US, including stops at the Music Box in LA and Terminal 5 in New York. The whole tour culminates with an appearance — or should we say appearances — at Coachella’s back-to-back monster-sized extravaganza. Full list of tour dates available below.

Think you’ve got what it takes to become a big-time producer?

What do Steve Angello, Eric Prydz, Arno Cost, Norman Doray, and Chuckie have in common?

They’ve all worked with Mark Brown, founder and A&R chief of Cr2 Records. An accomplished veteran of the EDM scene, Brown has worn many hats during his 20 years in the industry. In 2000, he launched EMI’s dance music imprint, Credence, where he signed a certain Eric Prydz. His current label, Cr2, boasts a roster that includes heavyweights Umek, Carl Cox, Dirty South, and Fedde le Grand.  He’s also cracked the DJ Mag Top 100 as part of MYNC.

When it comes to dance music, Mark Brown knows what he’s talking about. And now he’s looking for new talent.

On January 25 at 9PM UK time, Brown will host a live A&R session via Ustream, during which he will lend his expertise to aspiring young producers. He’ll tell you what it takes to get signed to a label, as well as offering technical advice to artists looking to develop their style. If you’re interested in Brown’s input, head over to the MYNC Facebook page. Submit your track through the Soundcloud Dropbox before January 25 to qualify for consideration. If your track is chosen, Brown will dissect it during the live show. It’s a fantastic opportunity to have your track analyzed by some very qualified ears.

Damian William – Russian Doll (Original Mix)

damian-william-russian-doll

When Tiesto debuted French, electro-house producer, Damian William’s “Russian Doll” over the summer at Electric Zoo in New York City, the crowd was instantly transformed by it’s multi-layered bass lines and squealing synths.  After 5 long months, this fast-paced production has a found a new home in our iTunes library.

The energy here is palpable as the euphoric piano chord lead builds into a massive drop before Damian effortlessly leads us into one of the most energetic breakdowns we have heard in awhile. This is a must listen for any electro-house fan.

Pioneer Offers Limited Edition White CDJ 2000s and DJM 900

cdj2000wdjm900nxswfront

When Pioneer originally unveiled its new line of CDJs and the DJM 900 Nexus, it was undeniably the talk of the DJ world. With ethernet connectivity and new displays on the CD players, plus revamped FX on the 900 with the X-Pad control, the list of upgrades to previous models were seemingly endless.

What Pioneer failed to mention though, was that less than a year later it would offer a visually stunning, limited edition run of white CDJ 2000s and DJM 900s. Starting in February, the company will release a total of 1,000 white CDJ 2000s and 500 white DJM 900s worldwide.

Each special edition mixer and player will be adorned with an engraved plaque that lists its individual serial number to indicate its authenticity and limited quantity.

For all the DJ-gear whores out there, this limited edition set is the stuff dreams are made of. Not only is it some of the best equipment on the market, but it’s a unique set that only 500 lucky people will get to call their own. For more information, visit Pioneer’s website, and make sure to check out the video below.

Presenting the Ultra Top 10, powered by Dancing Astronaut

We’ve been doing some pretty awesome stuff with our friends at Ultra Records lately, so when they approached us to help curate a list of our top ten tracks for their YouTube page, it seemed like a no-brainer. So, we went back through some of our favorite tracks — released or upcoming — and put together the playlist embedded above. We’re going to be working with Ultra on lots more stuff going forward, so don’t hesitate to let us know what you think about this first go.

Dancing Astronaut presents Axis, Episode 001

Axis-Show-Art

One thing the EDM cognoscenti got right was the notion of the EDM radio show. Above & Beyond have Trance Around the World, Tiesto has Club Life, Armin Van Buuren does A State of Trance, and Avicii’s got LE7ELs. Well, we’re throwing our hat into the ring with the premiere of our flagship radio show: Axis.

Featuring the latest and greatest in current and unreleased EDM — not to mention expertly mixed by our very own Jared-F — each carefully crafted episode is designed to fill that gap created by other radio shows. If you’ve been looking for a show filled with not only the tracks you’re just getting to know and love but also those unreleased gems by your favorite DJs, Axis is the answer.

We’ve started our first episode off with our (and your) favorite tracks that have come out recently. Next month, we’ll be bringing you a whole slew of surprises.

Haze & Full Intention – Signification (Sebjak Remix)

Sebjak Headlines At DJ Tävling

Sebjak has been known for his pulsing and powerful progressive basslines. He reminds us a lot of Hard Rock Sofa because you know everything will incorporate the sweeping sounds we have come to love and appreciate from deeper tracks. A few of Sebjak’s previous beauties have been “Analog Stockholm” and his remix of Cicada’s “Fast Cars.” This time around he uses a tech oriented bassline that meshes perfectly with the robotic vocals that give this tune a sinister yet bold feel. Sebjak welcomes you to the ‘dark side’ – we hear excessive partying takes place there on numerous occasions.

Laidback Luke & Sander Van Doorn vs. Michael Woods – Who’s Wearing The Cap The Last Day On Earth (Hardwell Mashup)

Hardwell-Philadelphia-850-010

Hardwell releases this killer mashup right before his highly anticipated “Spaceman” release. He combines Laidback Luke and Sander Van Doorn’s “Who’s Wearing The Cap” and Michael Woods’ “Last Day On Earth.” Hardwell flawlessly transitions between both tracks and using Duvall’s vocals to his advantage. The drop is what really sells this mashup because it is much harder than the original mix of “Last Day On Earth.” We know that Hardwell loves to bring the heat so it is no surprise that he keeps finding unique ways of lighting speakers on fire.
