Style of Eye aka Linus Eklöw has been around as a DJ and producer since the early 90′s. However, only recently has the Swede’s immense talent been highly recognized by Defected Records and Ingrosso’s Refune. This past May, Linus released a massive remix to Swedish House Mafia’s “Save The World,” that strongly contends with Alesso’s, Zedd’s, and Knife Party’s remixes. Following his melodic and high energized release “We Are Boys,” Style of Eye’s remix of “The Trumpeter” offers triumphant trumpet sounds and funky distortions. The track sounds like a breed of progressive and funky tech-house. Be sure to look out for Style Of Eye as he continues to produce quality productions as such.

Here’s some more proof that EDM is making its way out of the underground and into the mainstream – a collaboration between Rihanna and Calvin Harris called “We Found Love.” The track has the fun, lighthearted feeling we’ve come to expect from Calvin, and also reminds us Rihanna’s previous work with another monster EDM producer, David Guetta. Expect to hear this on the American airwaves before you can decide if it’s pronounced “Re-anna” or “Re-hanna.”

The Brazilian Electro House monsters, Darth & Vader, have been flawlessly dropping remix after remix on their SoundCloud for months now. These guys produce nothing but spinal fluid draining, seizure inducing, crunchy electro goodness. If you like aggressive bass lines and huge drops then you are going to love what these guys have been cooking up.

We may have taken you “Behind the Booth” with DJ Chuckie, but we haven’t quite made it into the studio with any of our favorite producers. MTV, however, was lucky enough to get invited into Wolfgang Gartner’s new home studio in LA, and they’ve shared the goods with us all in a nice little video. The quick tour reveals that the electro-house maestro uses Ableton Live as his DAW of choice (that’s digital audio workstation for the non-producers out there) as well as a sweet selection of new kit and old. We love getting sneak peeks behind the scenes of how music gets made, so, you know, hit us up if you’re interested.
We thought “Without You” was a solid choice in our Nothing But The Beat album review, and we previously got a hard hitting remix from Dutch superstar Nicky Romero. R3hab now brings us his rendition of “Without You” which incorporates a huge drop that uses bl33ps, pounding drums, and a few distortions to give you that ‘fall off a cliff’ sensation. You will notice some similarities in the drop from R3hab’s remix of “Never Will Be Mine“, however what really sets this remix apart from the rest is how well Usher’s vocals are engineered. N-JOY!

Avicii embarks on an incredible 3 day tour which will make pit stops in Ibiza, Cannes, and Amsterdam. Three of the biggest party cities in the entire world welcome arguably the hottest act in house music today. The video gives us insight into how incredible Avicii’s life is and also gives us a preview of what is cooking in the laboratories of the great Tim Berg. The 2nd song in the video is Avicii’s Tour Mix of Coldplay’s “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall”. This song joins the ‘waiting list’ of huge tracks that need to be released, the others are “Levels”, “Silhouettes”, “Derezzed” vocal mix, “Don’t Give Up On Us”, and now his Coldplay remix. One of the biggest tunes of the year gets an exciting energy filled remix from Denzal Park. The pounding drums featured in the original mix are softer and more progressive in the remode version while the build up is slightly elongated. Things change very drastically at approximately the 1:46 mark where a totally different sound is incorporated into the transition before the bridge. Needless to say, the folks at Dancing Astronaut were very impressed, which lead us to this question – is the remode better than the original? What do you guys think? “Who’s Wearing The Cap” features a superstar collaboration between Laidback Luke (Dancing Astronaut favorite) and Sander Van Doorn. The build up reminds me a little of the synth filled drop from Laidback Luke’s remix of “U & I“. This tune is this one of our favorite tracks from the album due to the fact that the drop takes a little from every EDM genre, a hard hitting electro drop meshed with a slight wobble (dubby). SF folks should rejoice, Laidback Luke is performing at Ruby Skye this Saturday after LovEvolution, and Sander will be at Vessel SF on October 11th. Big News!

Listening to Peter Gelderblom’s latest track “I Gotta Let U Go,” is the perfect way to close out the summer of 2011. The Holland based producer created a soothing and reminiscent track of all the good times this past summer that we gotta let go of (for the time being) – pun intended. Although it may to be too early to plan for Miami Music Week 2012, the classy vocals by Dominica and the incredibly feel good vibes that Peter Gelderblom created on this track, make it almost impossible not to think about partying in the hot sun with chilled pools and white beaches. Although there is no serious drop, this remedying track is extremely addictive.
