On the heels of our review of Gregori Klosman’s Cielo debut, the Parisian producer has uploaded a preview of his “Let Me Love You” remix. He transforms the Ne-Yo original from a radio-friendly R&B track to a (potentially) radio-friendly electro one. The remix’s slow piano build doesn’t prepare us for the frenzied, synth heavy drop but that’s fine because we love surprises. Klosman hasn’t leaked any release date information yet, but if we had to guess we don’t imagine you’ll be waiting too long for the full version.

Alongside Hard Rock Sofa, Swanky Tunes have released “Here We Go” and “The Edge” as some of the hardest tracks in progressive house. The Russian’s are now back — without their Hard Rock Sofa counterparts — for a remix of Tonite Only’s “Go.” The melodic vocal and high pitched build come with deep drums and signature Swanky leads to make their remix of “Go” a signature effort. Head to Beatport for the official release along with the original mix.
Rukes is a name that has become synonymous with epic DJ photos, and he is finally bringing his photos outside your computer screen and to a real world show. Rukes is teaming up with the W Hotel in Times Square, which will host an interactive exhibit with his photos for the entire month of September, or from August 30th to September 30th to be exact. The free exhibit will pair never-before-seen images with interactive listening stations playing clips from the artist in the image. Unfortunately, for now the images aren’t available online, but hopefully Rukes will add a gallery when the installation is complete.
We have exciting news for New York residents — or at least Sebastian Ingrosso, Otto Knows, and Alesso do. Taking a page from the SHM playbook, Sebastian Ingrosso has just announced his latest puzzle, and it is not as secret as it seems. The cube holds the letters to form the names of Sebastian Ingrosso, Alesso, and Otto Knows with the question “All mixed up on Halloween?” in front of the NY skyline. If the event does fall on Halloween weekend as the teaser implies, it will coincide with the launch of Sensation USA — another very high profile New York event. We aren’t sure of any other information just yet, but with the recent Avicii Radio City announcement, something tells us that this venue is going to be big. If you’re trying to party Swedish style on Halloween this year, it’s probably best to hold off on making plans just yet.
Update: There’s a new clue that just hit the web, and it entails dialing a phone number: 855-ALL-MIXED-UP
Update 2: New Rubiks cube available above… Do we see the letters for ‘Pier 94′?
Reggae and dance music have been colliding with increased frequency and although it’s a great idea, the results aren’t always spectacular. When we saw that Benny Benassi had taken a spin at remixing “Jamming,” a Bob Marley classic, we couldn’t wait to give it a listen. However, the track fell short of our expectations. It’s not that the remix is bad but rather that the elements he employs — like the chord progression and synths — are ordinary. We won’t write the song off entirely until we hear the full thing — hopefully the other four minutes are more exciting.
Release Date: September 2nd

Last Thursday I ventured to Cielo — one of my favorite nightclubs in New York — to see Gregori Klosman make his debut. For those unaware, Cielo has been in business for over ten years and has hosted some of the most legendary names in the industry. It commands superiority above all other establishments in terms of music heritage, room-to-sound set up, and overall experience of seeing a DJ put his best foot forward. Unlike other NYC venues, Cielo is very straightforward with its bookings and does not generally venture outside the pastures of tech, deep, and minimal house. When someone like Klosman comes into town – bearing to his catalogue of tech house gems – its something to get excited about. Read past the break for my take on his debut appearance. (more…)
Flying way under the radar for quite some time, TheFatRat has put forth his second official remix “Turn The World On” following his recent remix to Martin Solveig’s “The Night Out.” Bringing his German born talents to Los Angelas, TheFatRat’s electro house efforts mesh perfectly with DEV’s seductive vocals. The track has its uplifting moments that eventually get perfectly balanced with crunching bass lines, which makes “Turn The World On” fitting for both clubs and festivals. As the TheFatRat begins to finally come out of his shell, we are very excited to hear what he has coming next.
It’s Thursday, which means it’s almost Friday but before we start celebrating the arrival of the weekend let’s recap today’s news and releases. The most exciting bit of news is that a Swedish storm is set to blow through New York City on Halloween. Although there are still some pieces to put together, we do know the storm will be comprised of Sebastian Ingrosso, Otto Knows, and Alesso. Read on for the rest of today’s roundup. (more…)
