Federico Scavo definitely has a knack for club-ready tech house bombs, and “iRobot,” out this week on Beatport, is just the latest addition to his weaponry. The track is certainly more synth-driven and less disco than some of his other numbers, and even though his vocoded vocals aren’t quite the robots on everyone’s mind today it’ll still certainly play as a summertime anthem. This one is out now on Toolroom Records.
We last checked in with Italian house producer Federico Scavo with the release of his fantastic remix of Matty Menck & Social Phunk‘s “Are You Ready For Love” back in early November. This time around we’re looking at a sexually-charged original “Freaks” from Scavo with the help of fellow countryman NDKj. It’s not like we’re searching for excuses to think about the upcoming Miami season, but this just checks all of the boxes for a bonafide warm weather-ready tech house tune. Scavo and NDKj’s tune is out now on Alex Kenji, Manuel De La Mare, and Luigi Rocca’s Hotfingers Music. Skip past the break for a full preview and Beatport purchase link.
German producers Matty Menck & Social Phunk’s “Are You Ready For Love,” originally released on Toolroom Records back in May, is a fantastic disco house tune, but man does Federico Scavo turn it up a notch on remix duties. It’s a wonderful feeling when a rework manages to completely kick the ass of an already quality original. Truly blurring the lines between a techno driver and a joyous vocal club tune, Scavo makes a good thing better by way of a funky minimal bass line. This one’s an excellent way to kick off your weekend. Listen to the full track and purchase after the break.
Federico Scavo presents his take on Groove Phenomenon’s “Viejos Tiempos.” This Latin-esque tune is full of riveting bass lines and a punchy electro tuba — making its groove appeal unrestrained. Scavo is no stranger to groovy tech house; his latest releases of “You Know” and “Stump” made their way to John Dahback’s Toolroom Knights compilation — leaving his mark on the tech house world and proving that he’s a producer to be reckoned with. The track is out now via Tiger Records and can be purchased on Beatport.
