It’s hard to ignore a duo who’ve been graciously extolled by industry legends such as Above & Beyond, but it’s even even harder to ignore that duo when they’re pumping out fantastic remixes such as a heavy rendition of Armin van Buuren’s “Suddenly Summer.” Orange County’s Norin & Rad are one of Anjunabeats’ most promising talents, but their journey to stardom is only just beginning.
Above & Beyond sent shockwaves across the globe last November after announcing an end to their beloved weekly running radio show, Trance Around the World. Luckily, all this meant was a re-branding effort to create new advent Group Therapy Radio – phewf! To mark the occasion, A&B brought us all the way to Jayamahal Palace in Bangalore, India, and featured six hours of the best in trance concluding with this set from Anjunabeats prodigy, Mat Zo.
A mastermind at joining the elegance of trance with the hard-hitting rifts of progressive, Zo’s sound cuts across genres and showcases an unmatched talent for mixing. From mashing in rarely heard, always-loved deadmau5 tracks, to an electronic rendition of the sounds of Bollywood to premiering his recent collaboration with Porter Robinson, “Easy”, it’s clear to see why he was chosen for such a colossal event. If you love sets that are fast-moving, unpredictable and beautifully mixed, have a listen and find the tracklist after the break.
Ahead of the March 4th release of the now highly regarded label showcase, Anjunabeats has announced the thirty-song tracklist for Anjunabeats Volume 10. If you’re a close follower of the Anjunabeats label or regular listener of the ABGT weekly show, you were probably already good to guess some of what Anjuna would be including, but now you can digest the entirety of the release — which includes 30 exclusive (and largely unreleased) tracks from more than twenty artists that often call Anjunabeats their home. If that isn’t enticing enough, Above & Beyond themselves will also throw in four of their own previously unreleased productions. Check out the full list after the break and if you’re really feeling ambitious, pre-order your copy today.
All eyes have been on Audien since the release of his Eventide/Unity EPbranded him as the next young artist to masterfully capture the union between progressive house and trance. The 21-year-old’s latest track, “Wayfarer,” landed on our radar when Above & Beyond made it the inaugural selection for their Group Therapy radio show, and now that it has been released, we can safely say the hype has been real. Captivating melodies and clean drum kicks lead the way for what is sure to be one of the greater efforts across trance this January. After we teased you with the track last week, “Wayfarer” is now available courtesy of Anjunabeats.
Although he may not have made the final cut of our list, Audien is surely an artist to keep an eye out for in 2013.

Audien returns with his latest endeavor “Wayfarer” after the release of his Eventide/Unity EP via Above & Beyond‘s record label Anjunabeats. The infamous trance trio premiered “Wayfarer” as the first track ever to be played on their new radio show Above & BeyondGroup Therapy in November, and we have been waiting for its official release ever since.
“Wayfarer” hits somewhere between progressive house and trance and with its sprawling sound scopes really showcases once again Audien’s ability to produce huge melodies with kick drum chords. The club-ready track’s official release date is January 14, but click below the break for a sneak peak.
Well, as predicated by the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, it’s the end of the world as we know it. Unfortunately, only one of us is John Cusack, so the rest of us have no choice but to party into oblivion. At least we can thank the Mayans for conceding doomsday to a Friday. To accompany Armageddon, we have provided a list of tunes that will add appropriate theme music to the backdrop of imminent annihilation. Hopefully, you can find consolation in their uplifting message. Godspeed.
Following the news that Above & Beyond were ending their radio show Trance Around The World and starting Group Therapy, fans were concerned that the new chapter might mark the beginning of the end. This concern has so far proven untrue. Trance fans can rejoice with the announcement that legendary trio are hitting the big apple in 2013. Details regarding the event are scarce but we do know the Anjunabeats Volume 10 launch party will take place on February 16th at Roseland Ballroom and is hosted by Made event. Priority access tickets are on sale December 19th at 10AM by signing up here.
Guy J, an Israeli producer we’ve seen steamrolling forward in 2012 with the launch of his Lost & Found imprint (under megastar John Digweed‘s Bedrock label), is out with his second release on the infant imprint. The two tracks “Vaga” and “We Do It Best” show, as always, Guy’s genre-spanning and melodic production style that lies somewhere in the midst of pure progressive house, tech house, and trance sensibilities. He’s also put out records on labels like Tiga‘s Turbo and techno mainstay Cocoon — only further evidence he can meld with producers associated with pretty distinct scenes within the genre. If you like his style, also take a stab at his guest mix from Above & Beyond‘s ABGT show two weeks back (in the last 30 minutes). Stream and purchase after the break.
Above & Beyond has just released their video for the latest single “Alchemy” off last year’s Group Therapy. The song, featuring vocalist Zoë Johnston, is an affecting piece of music about a lover’s betrayal. The music video features actress Mackenzie Firgens and Jonas Mayyab in the directors’ chair.
