As the second day of Ultra Europe comes to a close, those lucky enough to purchase a pass to the festival’s third day set their sights on the island of Hvar. While Day 1 was defined by the high energy sets of Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Avicii, Art Department and Luciano, Day 2 brought a heavier atmosphere to Poljud Stadium. Chase & Status and Krewella lit up the Croatian soccer stadium with drum and bass and pop-friendly dubstep while Afrojack and Hardwell unleashed an assault of Dutch electro that would stir the crowd into a frenzy. Over at the Carl Cox tent, Jamie Jones, Marco Carola and Cox himself curated 9 hours worth of the best that techno had to offer for a crowd unphased by the modest size and location of Cox’s tent.
If you’ve ever wondered just what it’s like to be Afrojack, the EDM giant has just satisfied that curiosity. In the latest video on Afrojack TV, the Dutch producer goes beyond the typical tour trailer into something a little more personal; instead of sweeping crowd shots and triumphant DJ booth fist pumping, the video has more of a blooper reel feel. From jet antics to a toilet paper party to a sing-a-long “Tequila” section, the video shows there’s more to the man than big tracks, hot chick,s and champagne. But fear not: this video also definitely contains big tracks, hot chicks and champagne.Posted by

Electric Daisy Carnival has come and gone, but fans can relive the memories as the dust settles in Las Vegas. UPDATED: Eric Prydz added making this a baker’s dozen.
Long before the club/pop cross over had taken precedent, Dutch trio Shermanology had long perfected the union of two once allegedly opposing forces. Off the back of hints at a collaborative spell alongside Dyro, and in a long anticipated follow-up to 2012’s “Living For The City” with R3HAB, the Sherman clan is back on form with another quality dovetail in the peak time playbook.
Part stunning radio set-piece, part relentless Dutch anthem, “The Only Way” matches Wall Recordings heavy-footed aptitude whilst respectfully balancing the soulful resonance of Dorothy Sherman’s top lines. At a time when the addition of a topline too often signals a compromise in quality, Shermanology hold their corner considerably well, offering a welcome return from European dance music’s original family affair.

An average week in Las Vegas for Afrojack consists of pool parties and nightclub DJ sets. This week will be slightly different, with Electric Daisy Carnival and EDC Week amplifying the typical chaos for the life of a DJ. But before the fun begins in the desert, Afrojack has done a charitable deed, visiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas. The Boys and Girls Clubs are designed to help the youth with demonstrations of success, health, and good character. This week, Afrojack took to the group’s DJ class and spent time with its members — head below the break for photos from his visit.
This February, Afrojack released “As Your Friend” with Chris Brown, officially marking the road to his debut album and staking his claim in 2013. Today, however, Afrojack has officially released the remix package for his lead single, going in-house and handing remix duties to his own squad.
Wall artists and Jacked residents such as Sidney Samson, Bobby Burns, and co-producer of the original Leroy Styles all take their hand at “As Your Friend,” along with Nause, Danny Howard, and newcomer D-wayne. Jump below the break to listen to “As Your Friend” in its newest versions and keep an eye out for new Afrojack music on the horizon.
Along with the exciting times that come with the third year of EDC Las Vegas, Insomniac has planned for the second year a concurrent dance music-focused conference named EDMBiz. This year the event will be held again at The Cosmopolitan on June 18, 19, and 20th — right before EDC Las Vegas hits The Speedway. While the keynote speakers for this year’s event were already announced a few weeks back, Insomniac has now shared a revised and updated list of the panelists that’ll be joining the many industry enthusiasts as well as a list of the topical and fascinating panels set to take place during the conference.
Ibiza isn’t the only party island in Europe. Malta’s annual Isle of MTV is back for its seventh straight year, and Afrojack has been announced as its final artist. On June 26th the Dutch superstar will join Jessie J, Rita Ora, and Rudimental in Il Fossos Square, Valletta for the free event, which caps of Malta Music Week. The only non-UK act on this year’s lineup, Afrojack told MTV he is “Really excited to play here, I visited Malta once before on Isle of MTV and it was absolutely crazy. I can’t wait to make your island jump!” If you’re in the area get there early: the event starts at 6 pm but the square is sure to fill up long before then.Posted by
