From unidentified bootlegs at EDCNY to anthem status at Ultra, the saga of Afrojack’s “Air Guitar” has finally come full circle with its official release. The production is trademark Afrojack; melodic ups, rumbling downs, and bulky Dutch bleeps combine for your ideal electro offering. “Air Guitar” comes in the midst of material from Afrojack’s new album, between “As Your Friend” and “Rocker,” and Ultra anthems, Tiësto, Quintino, & Alvaro’s ”United” and Avicii’s “UMF.”

Afrojack fans caught official wind of the Dutch DJ’s newest track when he previewed it for Danny Howard’s Radio 1 guest mix in December. Now, just in time for Miami, it’s been announced that ”Air Guitar” will serve as one of the official anthems for the Ultra Music Festival‘s 15th annual celebration. This comes only hours after Nick unleashed the first single, a collaboration with Chris Brown, off his debut artist album. “Air Guitar” is a glitchy electro tour de force — destined to set off crowds at festivals all summer long.

Taking the time to guest mix for Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1, Afrojack previewed one of the many new tracks that have been powering his live sets. Revealed as “Air Guitar,” the follow up to “Annie’s Theme” is ‘Afrojack music’ in full force, featuring a melodic introduction and a seizure-inducing climax. We first heard this production at Afrojack’s EDC NY double header, bootlegged with internet friends — and it worked wonders. Without a release date, we can safely say that “Air Guitar” will be drop via Wall Recordings in the near future.
