As what already promises to be a huge year for trance continues, this week lips from the genre’s past puckered up again. Released on Magik Muzik is a three-track remix EP of Allure’s 2011 “No Goodbyes,” a release that revived the Allure project and revealed that Tiësto had passed the live torch. Now revisited by Britain’s revered Lange and Germany’s Tom Cloud, the track has been reimagined and revitalized, from it’s more progressive extended mix to Lange’s darker, more urgent take to Tom Cloud’s bouncing melody-driven intepretation. Though there’s no word yet on what Allure is currently up to, the “No Goodbyes” remix package has once again piqued our interest in the enigmatic project. (more…)
We’ve recently heard from Allure with his Tiesto collaboration “Pair of Dice,” but its been since July that we’ve been treated to Marcel Woods’ “Trigger.” That changes this week, as Revealed Recordings is serving up a collaboration between the two. Contributions from both producers are individually prominent while remaining in sync for a well-rounded, forceful dance tune. Marcel’s deep progression, recognizable from his last release, serves as the track’s back bone while the upsurging synths, similar to those from “Pair of Dice,” can be credited to Allure. The final offering fits Hardwell’s brand of profound house, so head to Beatport for another progressive gem.
In 1998, Tiesto unleashed a side project under the moniker Allure. After collaborating with other producers, the small Allure project seemed to burn out until the release of Kiss from the Past in June 2011. No one was sure if Tijs was still part of the group, and it wasn’t clear until Tiesto officially handed the project off to his protegé with their new collaboration on “Pair of Dice.” The grinding bassline starts off the song before tremendous big room synths come into play creating an anthemic tune. It seems that the time has come for Allure to make his own name and will also be releasing a track on Revealed Recordings with Marcel Woods, “Ready.”

Allure is a new act on Tiesto’s Musical Freedom label, and what better way to get some attention for a major release than by co-producing it with the label head himself? “Pair Of Dice” has the standard big room synths of a Tiesto track, but with almost melancholy undertones that give the track more of an emotional feel. While the preview is just over a minute long, we should be able to make a better decision when the full track drops on Musical Freedom October 8th. In the meantime, check out the preview video with lots of tour footage featuring both Tijs and Allure himself.
Update: Despite some uncertainty in the comments, it turns out that Allure is a full on act now — though it was once a Tiesto alias. For more info, go here.
