Heard during Group Therapy 050 at Alexandra Palace, Artificial’s “Prototype” has finally landed on Beatport. Bringing together the talents of both Andrew Bayer and Norin & Rad, the track is the first of an upcoming series of singles for the three producers. When two massive names in dance music unite, it’s impossible not to expect something special, but “Prototype” certainly delivers on the hype. Highlighted by a deep piano breakdown, the collaboration utilizes an array of influences from across the dance music spectrum with results only Anjunabeats could deliver.
Jono, Tony and Paavo are at it again with their brand new original, “Mariana Trench.” A song fittingly named after the deepest part of the ocean, Above & Beyond‘s latest release was revealed exclusively during ABGT050 at Alexandra Palace. Starting off slowly and peacefully, the British producers methodically layer pulsing synths to build the track until the two minute mark. At the drop, A&B’s deep rhythm picks up a notch or two, molding into a dance-worthy hybrid of trance and electro bliss. Grab the trance trio’s original Anjunabeats release through Beatport today.
If there was any question as to the far reaching success of Anjunadeep in 2013, look no further than their new compilation, ‘The Yearbook 2013.’ The annual compilation brings together the best Anjunadeep releases of the year, with the 2013 edition highlighting such marvelous tracks as Andre Sabota’s “Tokyo Dawn,” Dusky’s “Mr. Man,” Errka’s “Excommunication” and more. The Anjunabeats sub-label has proven a tremendous force in its own right, and ‘The Year Book 2013′ is convincing evidence of the truly amazing progressive and deep house artists on the label’s roster. As usual, the compilation is accompanied by a bonus DJ mix.
Though ABGT 050 may seem like ages ago, with the number of brand new gems revealed in the six-hour broadcast, the Anjuna family can relive the magic each time a tune gears up for official release. “Prototype,” a track debuted during Andrew Bayer’s set, was recently slated and announced as ABGT 053′s ‘Record of the Week.’ The new production marks the first single for new project Artificial: the official collaboration between Bayer and Norin & Rad. The three envelope pushers have toured together, remixed for each other, and now have married their talents in holy progressive union. Their debut tune infuses the label’s emotive touch into a club-ready structure, backing builds with bliss and synths with strings. Due out on December 9th, this is one prototype we’d like to see built out.
Anjunabeats is your prime destination for all that is trance and progressive trance, and Arty possesses a hybrid style that listeners on both sides of the genre fence connect with. Following this year’s “Together We Are” and “Grande Finale,” the young producer is back to release his latest single, “Flashback.” The Russian standout is a master of melodies that find the perfect harmonic combinations to create an unmatched progressive sound. Utilizing his developed ear for dynamic progressions, Arty creates a dark, yet lively set of riffs for his latest tune. The melodic breakdown emerges with a bright and layered plucking that feeds right into the climax. Already a fall favorite among the likes of Above & Beyond, Armin Van Buuren and Steve Angello, expect to hear “Flashback” make its rounds in DJ booths worldwide.
Before the likes of universal landmarks “Together We Are” and “Grand Finale” pierced the silence for Russian breakout Arty, Anjunabeats played consistent hosts to some of his finest transcendent club moments. Returning to the release circuit after a whirlwind summer of festival action, the Anjuna team welcomes back one of its prized European discoveries for a future-focused installment of uplifting dance excellence. Piercing synths and concentrated melodic progressions make “Flashback” a titanic addition to the label’s trance-leaning discography, leaving the young progressive’s dynamic compositional values to snapshot a melodically-warped hybrid of some of the popular sounds dominating modern club land. Back on track with the label truly in tune with his musical leanings, Arty remains that essential bridge in sound between the euphoric and the big room – a balance that few other artists of his generation have shown the potential to master.
Release date: November 18
Andrew Bayer has become a name synonymous with quality. Over the course of the past year, the Anjunabeats talent has proven something of a virtuoso. While his avant-garde sophomore album If It Were You, We’d Never Leave showcased his refined classical training, Bayer followed with stunning club-oriented pieces like “England” and “Need Your Love (Club Mix).”
Today, Andrew Bayer adds two more tracks to his landmark year and growing Anjunabeats catalog. The first track, “Perth,” is a gorgeous progressive house production: a track we’ve been waiting to get our hands on for quite some time. With its cascading melody and emphatic progression, “Perth” is one of Bayer’s finest productions to date. The B-side to the release, “Mirth Mobile,” is something a bit different from Bayer: gritty electro house. Clearly designed for the peak time of his sets, “Mirth Mobile” is near-relentless, save its delicate, trance-like breakdown.
Though Mat Zo’s Damage Control was released less than a week ago, the Anjunabeats team has already revealed the first official post-release remix. The UK’s Ilan Bluestone took a rather unorthodox route by selecting the interlude-like “Lucid Dreams” for his rework, but by doubling the length and emphasizing the “dream” managed to build out a progressive-flavored but funk-edged tune. First heard in ABGT 051, the remix comes on the heels of another Group Therapy victory for the low-key luminary: During Above & Beyond’s celebrated 50th episode, the trio dropped three brand new Bluestone tunes and one reworked favorite, effectively spotlighting the producer for all the world to hear. With more in store for year’s end, his “Lucid Dreams” remix will be released on November 26th.
Andrew Bayer has established himself as one of Anjunabeats’ finest assets. After captivating the electronic world with his avant-garde sophomore album If It Were You , We’d Never Leave, Andrew Bayer has gone on to showcase a plethora of high intensity, club-ready productions. His newest release comes in the form of a two-track EP, slated for official release on November 11th. The A-side to the EP, “Perth,” has received no shortage of attention thus far for its radiant sound design and uplifting progression. The B-side to the release, “Mirth Mobile,” has finally been previewed by Bayer. In contrast to “Perth,” “Mirth Mobile” rides on a thunderous sawtooth bassline and feels more akin to the fusion of electro and progressive house popularized by such artists as Zedd and Clockwork (among many more).
Andrew Bayer’s newest work may be a far cry from the eclectic downtempo and midtempo productions of his album, but if anything, it further supports the claim that Bayer is one of the most versatile artists in the dance music sphere.
