After shutting down the A State of Trance stage at Ultra this past weekend, Ferry Corsten is celebrating the 100th release on his Flashover Recordings label with an extra special offering. After releasing “Rock Your Body Rock” almost a decade ago, Ferry revisits his classic for a 2013 rendition and hands it right off to Arty, Dimitri Vegas, and Like Mike for remix duties. Arty resurrects his “Rock-N-Rolla” brand from his ever famous “Punk” remix,” and carries over the same shrilling energy. Dimitri and Mike leap forward with their “Mainstage Remix,” crafting a sound for the masses per usual.
In March of 2011, newcomer Arty took on Dutchman Ferry Corsten’s “Punk” dubbing it as a “Rock-N-Rolla” remix. The revitalized version threw Arty into the spotlight and ended up on SHM’s Until Now compilation release as well as Above & Beyond’s Cream Ibiza album. Two years later, Arty has re-vibed his Rock-n-Rolla skills by remixing Ferry’s classic song “Rock Your Body Rock.” The Flashover Records release has that positive rhythm, rolling baseline, and anthemic climax we’ve come to love from the Russian. Frankly, this song is meant to rock your body rock and roll style, and it does the trick. The track will be released on March 25.Posted by
As Arty’s “Together We Are” continues to dominate charts and setlists, a few new versions are available for the airwaves this week. Out on Big Beat is a remix package of the progressive house tune that features reworks from Audien, The M Machine and CLMD.
Fellow progressive trance producer Audien tones down the piano but maintains the overall flow of the track, highlighting Chris James’ vocals but taking the track slightly more big room. The M Machine keeps the vocal but cut just about everything else, leaving drum-laced builds and an inverted melody complete with dubby breakdowns in the original’s place. Norway’s CLMD rounded out the offerings with an even more euphoric effort, full of cascading tones and a stripped-down synth melody. With each remix giving something new to love, “Together We Are” is most assuredly not getting out of your head anytime soon.

The dust has hardly settled on Arty’s latest release, “Together We Are,” but its remixes have already begun buzzing. First comes a bulky rendition from blazing-hot dub-trio, The M Machine, who has recently dropped the second installment of their Metropolis EP and a remix for Bruno Mars’s “Locked Out Of Heaven.” The alluring vocal from Chris James isn’t going anywhere, but Arty’s elegant composition becomes chopped, distorted and flipped on its head for this unique remix.

It seems Arty has fallen in love with the sultry vocals of Deadmau5’ “The Veldt,” for he’s scooped up singer Chris James for his latest offering, “Together We Are.” The powerful vocal flows effortlessly over Arty’s signature bliss, reminiscent of previous releases “When I See You” and “Kate.” The young Russian earned an ample amount of respect from both trance and progressive worlds, proven by the support that his newest effort has garnered since its premiere last month. Armin van Buuren, Pete Tong, Above & Beyond and Tiesto, to name a few, have featured the track on their respective radio shows, an early indicator that this will become one of 2013’s most memorable tunes.

Every now and then, collaborations are formed that take your breath away. When news was released that trance guru Armin van Buuren had produced a track with Russian prodigy Arty, it was almost too good to be true. Aptly titled “Nehalennia” for the ancient goddess revered in the Roman age, there is something conspicuously religious about Armin and Arty’s latest work. Whether it be the track’s lulling melody, the breakdown’s gentle chord progression, or the immaculately conceived drop, there is an air of spiritual rejuvenation to “Nehalennia.” It’s the kind of track that has the power to both forgive and inspire. Collaborations of this magnitude don’t happen often, and “Nehalennia” gets better with every listen.

In anticipation of his Clarity remix compilation due out Feb 12, Zedd teased Tiesto‘s rendition of the powerful production today. Last year his concept album by the same name became a defining release in the young producer’s career. “Spectrum” — the first single off the album — reached number one on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Songs chart and a remix EP featuring reworks from artists like A-Trak & Clockwork, Arty, and Armin Van Buuren to name a few. Zedd is ready to give “Clarity” the same treatment with another extended play via Interscope Records.
Before Eric Prydz blessed the world with his Essential Mix, Pete Tong took us through this week’s Essential New Tunes – a must-have list for all dance music enthusiasts who wish to stay on top of current releases. Beginning with Dirty South & Deniz Koyu’s, “Halo,” set to release Monday, spanning to Dimitri Vegas, Monguai & Like Mike’s massive new hit, “Mammoth,” to a cosmic new track from Jeremy Olander, “Let Me Feel.” Pete’s Essential New Tune of the Week was none other than Disclosure’s, “White Noise” – a song that reached #3 on the UK Dance iTunes Chart within a day of being released. 15 Minutes of Fame was spent with Russian prodigy Arty who chatted about life on the road, and played us Alesso’s famed mix of his song “When I See You,” in addition to his trance-induced remix of Zedd’s “Spectrum”. Full tracklist after the break.
