Tomorrowland will once again invade Belgium this weekend, marking its ninth chapter with an expected attendance of over 180,00 fans hailing from over 214 nations around the globe. With a lineup vast enough to boast over 400 artists, the pool of headliners alone trump rival events, no single dance music genre is left unacknowledged, and the odds of discovering new talent are in favor of the attendees. Before TomorrowWorld touches down in Atlanta this September, Boom offers a heavenly opportunity for festival-goers — but with endless options come difficult decisions.
Want to visit all 15 stages, see your favorite DJ, experiment with new sounds, all while taking the time to witness sets in full? Navigating Tomorrowland will be no easy task, but one all fans should be excited to attempt — and that’s where DA has you covered. In the midst of an endless sea of talent, here are ten moments you won’t want to miss…
This February, Afrojack released “As Your Friend” with Chris Brown, officially marking the road to his debut album and staking his claim in 2013. The record has since hit number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and snippets of remixes have hit the Internet. Today, however, Afrojack has officially released the remix package for his lead single, going in-house and handing remix duties to his own squad.
Wall artists and Jacked residents such as Sidney Samson, Bobby Burns, and co-producer of the original Leroy Styles all take their hand at “As Your Friend,” along with Nause, Danny Howard, and newcomer D-wayne. Jump below the break to listen to “As Your Friend” in its newest versions and keep an eye out for new Afrojack music on the horizon.
Firebeatz have already had a laudable 2013 with big releases on Spinnin’ and Fly Eye Records thus far. Adding to their list of top notch label releases, the duo’s newest single alongside fellow Dutchman Bobby Burns is out now on Musical Freedom. Receiving its name from the nasally pre-drop sample and various doorbell noises embedded throughout, “Ding Dong” is a vehicle of restless energy from start to finish. Beginning with a carefree, high-pitched melody and charging electro house drop, “Ding Dong” is supplemented by a brief chord-laden bridge before returning to its feverish acceleration.
Firebeatz and Bobby Burns have teamed up to give Musical Freedom its next booming record. The Firebeatz boys are coming off the success of “Gangster” and are looking towards “Yeahhhh” while Bobby Burns’ latest “Lemonade” is nearly a week old. Together, their forces bring a combination of their personal dance tactics to make “Ding Dong” a bass-heavy, electro-laden offering fitting for the nature of Tiësto’s imprint.
It’s been almost a year since Bobby Burns has released “Next,” his last solo production, but the Jacked resident has finally bounced back with an impressive and highly anticipated release. After working with Afrojack on “Bridge” and “Ghettoblaster,” and joining him on tour, Bobby takes to Wall Recordings for his latest offering. “MontBlanc” boasts a gritty electro backbone, melodic undertones, and of course, a subtle taste of the Jacked flavor. We’re glad to see Burns return to the release circuit and it’s safe to say his latest effort has been worth the wait.
In case you were looking for a little Dirty Dutch this New Year’s Eve, tickets for JackedNYE are now on sale. The show will feature Afrojack, R3hab, Shermanology, Quintino, and Bobby Burns at the massive pier 94 event space. This is by far one of the best venues in NYC and after seeing Avicii last year, we know the pier will be rocking. Presale tickets start at $63 First release tickets start at $78 and increase in price after that, so act quickly. If Afrojack isn’t your style, Pretty Lights, Sander Van Doorn, Armin Van Buuren, and probably Dada Life, will all be in the Big Apple watching the ball drop.
We’ve been hearing about a huge Afrojack tour for a few weeks now, and MTV just broke all the details of the massive production. The ‘Jacked’ tour will have over thirty shows when it kicks off in May, and he will be bringing along the usual crew including Quintino, Bobby Burns, R3hab, and select performances with Shermanology. Afrojack has been on a tare lately, with a massive set at Ultra Music Festival over a month ago and back-to-back appearances at both weekends of Coachella. Tickets for the tour go on sale this Friday, April 20th, at 10AM ‘local time’ on Ticketmaster and LiveNation. We’ve embedded a list of the confirmed dates below, and it looks pretty staggering to say the least. (Not to mention the fact that more dates will probably be added.) Between Kaskade’s Freaks of Nature tour, Avicii’s Le7els arena tour, and now Jacked, it’s looking like a pretty amazing summer for American EDM fans.
Unfortunately, there’s no word on whether Lil’ Jon will be in attendance this time around.
Merely a few hours after touching down in Miami we headed over to the Arkadia pool at the Fontainebleau, and while most people were sitting down for lunch, we were basking in sun and beats of Roger Sanchez’ Stealth Miami party. Sebastien Drums, Adrian Lux, Funkagenda, and several other openers warmed up the crowd and decks with a variety of not-easily-identified tracks — which is somewhat refreshing given the insane amount of overlap between most EDM sets these days. As much fun as it is to listen to “Levels,” “One,” “Take Over Control,” and other similarly popular songs, it’s often more fun to have to turn to a fellow partygoer and ask, “WHAT THE FMIF IS THIS?”
Dutch DJ/Producer Bobby Burns, traditionally part of the Wall Records camp, released an original solo track yesterday on Roger Sanchez’s Stealth Records. After collaborations with Dutch icons like Afrojack and Sidney Samson, Bobby brings us a high-energy house track featuring a bouncy Dutch sound that will get any party going. Check it out!
Why isn’t Halloween a nationally recognized holiday? Nearly all young professionals and students go out and treat it as one of the biggest occasions of the entire year. You spend time planning your costume and where you’re going to party. Do corporate offices really want you to come in the next day hungover and less productive than normal? Of course not, but that’s what sick days are for. Hopefully this guide makes you want to stay a few extra days in the city of sin, so if you do decide to lengthen your stay make sure to keep this in mind: If you decide to go out, make sure you crush it. “I have work tomorrow” and “I have an early flight to catch,” are not valid excuses to tank a night out in one of the best cities in the entire world. If you are in that category, well, you might as well not have gone in the first place.
In this guide, we’ll break down the daily EDM events going down in each venue. That being said, we have a disclaimer. XS Nightclub decided to go balls to the wall and absolutely blow out their lineup. You could book a room in the Wynn or Encore and never even have to leave for the entire weekend. While new venues and different hotels add to the experience, are you really going to miss Avicii, Axwell, Alesso, Deadmau5 or Afrojack? That’s what we thought. Anyhow, make your decisions accordingly and thoroughly, any funny sexual excursions embarked upon during Halloween weekend that you would like to share with us can be sent to email@example.com.
