Bontan – The Revolution (Umek Remix)

Umek2

Hot off of Kraftek’s latest release is Umek’s remix of Bontan’s “The Revolution.” The track dropped this week as part of Bontan’s debut Hit It From The Back EP. While not much is known about the British producer, tech house is definitely his bag. His “The Revolution” has a driving, bouncing bassy house beat and a groovy vocal sample from Boogie Down Production’s “Exhibit F.” Umek’s remix takes the tech house a little deeper, throws in some drums and a bit more energy but still keeps the groove going. The track and the rest of Bontan’s EP are now available on Beatport.

Pleasurekraft feat. Green Velvet – Skeleton Key (Format B + Damn Kids Remixes)

Pleasurekraft feat. Green Velvet-Skeleton Key (the remixes)

The always-original Pleasurekraft and Green Velvet are back with a series of remixes of their summer collaboration, “Skeleton Key.” The full remix package includes re-edits from Format B, Damn Kids, Zoo Brazil, and Bontan, but we were especially tickled by German duo Format B’s techno rework and newcomer Damn Kids’ bassy and minimal take on the oh-so-spooky original. Both construe the track in such a way that without the presence of the very definable vocals, we’d hardly know it was the same song. In our minds, that’s the sign of a great remix. The full package is available for purchase today on Beatport and we have the two aforementioned tracks ready for you to stream after the break.
