Is it just me, or is there something of a bootleg revolution going on? It seems to have started back in February with Hardwell’s massive 19-track bootleg giveaway, followed by a Wolfgang Gartner bootleg pack, a Porter Robinson bootleg pack, a R3hab pack, two standout bootleg compilations from Clockwork, and more. Sure, bootlegs have pervaded DJ sets for years, but recently it feels as though they’re being mass produced — which is not a bad thing. Bootlegs are a valuable tool for DJs, as well as a more enjoyable mashup format for fans.
Yesterday, New Jersey producer Aylen also released his ensemble of bootlegs. With heavier house selections, dubstep drops, and sudden trap transitions incorporated, the bootleg pack is clearly targeted towards a tumultuous live environment. Not only has Aylen released all thirteen bootlegs for free, but he’s turned the bodacious bootlegs into a forty-five minute mix, which is also available for download. Head over to Aylen’s Soundcloud to download both the bootleg pack and mix.

Although it seems like yesterday that we saw Hardwell release his second bootleg pack of 2012, he is already back again with more. After hitting 300,000 fans on Facebook, Hardwell has released all three of his bootleg packs from 2010, 2011, and 2012 — plus all of the bootlegs that he didn’t include in those packs — as one “Bootleg Pack Trilogy.”
The complete pack includes 2010 throwbacks like “Show Me Love” vs “One,” and new combinations such as “Rage” vs “Ghosts N’ Stuff.” There’s a lot of good stuff in these free downloads so if you haven’t been keeping up with them, Hardwell has made it easy by compiling them all. Oh, and show him some love on Twitter or Facebook if you like what he’s put together.

Although Angger Dimas has not hit a milestone for Facebook likes, he is still feeling generous enough to give out a bootleg pack to those who have shown him support. The compilation contains ten different bootlegs, ranging from standards like “Coming Home” to the more unusual “I Shot the Sheriff” mixed with Porter Robinson’s “Spitfire.” In celebration of Electric Zoo, Dimas has also released an hour mix for Time Out New York. Checkout the mix and grab the bootleg pack below.

At this point it’s almost a rite of passage: one of the world’s mega DJs hits a major new milestone on Twitter or Facebook, and they show their appreciation for their fans by giving away some form of free download. Well, Hardwell is the latest DJ to join this club, providing his 200,000+ fans a massive bootleg pack in return for their continued support. He’s even been gracious enough to provide Dancing Astronaut readers the chance to download all thirteen of them first. A few of the selections will be familiar to you (“Bong Into Darkness,” for example), but the pack is full of new, interesting takes on many of the songs we’ve been hearing for months now — “Trolltanium” and “Cineman” for example. Regardless, hit the download below to juice up your iTunes with some fresh new selections from the one and only Hardwell. Oh, and show him some love on Twitter or Facebook if you like what he’s put together.
