As the countdown to Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas crosses the 2-week mark, fans are rounding up their groups of friends in preparation for what could be the single biggest party of the year. Last year’s event was an enormous success on many levels, and this year’s edition is poised to reach even greater heights.

Before we start the mayhem of EDC Las Vegas, our ears have barely stopped ringing since EDC NY ended just over a week ago. We figured everyone likes to relive one of the greatest weekends in NJ. We wrote our hearts out and took over 3000 pictures to bring our fans the best coverage possible. Besides the old coverage we wanted to give you the Editor’s take on the overall experience of EDC . The scene at Electric Daisy Carnival, NY was a messy splatter painting of lights, neon, and babes wearing daisies but its most important feature was inevitably the music. EDM fans from all over the world flocked to Met Life stadium to hear a variety of DJ’s perform — one of them being Chuckie. He delivered an electro heavy set but also peppered it with his signature dirty Dutch sounds, pop-vocal acapellas, dubstep, and more. Chuckie’s sonic DNA is a definite festival and fan favorite, however, I heavily prefer an eclectic mix to a set dominated by a single sound or sub-genre.
Chuckie’s beats kept the crowd going but so too did his own energy. Rather than stand behind the booth quietly mixing and selecting, — as some DJs opt to do — he chose to amp up the crowd with consistent interaction and declarations of love for both his fans and New York. Dirty Dutch originator Chuckie has joined forces with Frenchman Gregori Klosman to bring the world “The Numb3r5.” (We’re not sure if deadmau5 helped them with the spelling.) The light synths create a wobbling build that drops into a a dirty Dutch beat while retaining the original melody. This is definitely a lighter collaboration than Chuckie’s other upcoming track, “Electro Dude,” and shows his production versatility. Word on the street is that this may be included in Chuckie’s debut album due out later this summer, but either way it’s a solid collaboration from the two. There’s no word on whether or not Deadmau5 was consulted as to the track’s intere5ting spelling, but you can pick it up now on Beatport.

MixMash’s next monster release is Laidback Luke’s UMF premiered “1234,” which features Chuckie and Martin Solveig. The production effort comes solely from Luke, as Chuckie and Solveig contribute only to the chanting vocal that is so similar to ”Who Is Ready To Jump.” Luke plans for “1234″ to be his summer anthem, stating “…To me 1234 is the epic-ness of the epic tracks, but I wasn’t even ready for such a huge success of this tune in such a short time.” Fans whom have been waiting for the release of this track since Ultra can finally breathe a sigh of relief and purchase it on Beatport today.

Chuckie and Gregori Klosman, Dirty Dutch head honcho and newcomer, have reunited to produce “The NUMB3R5,” following up their last collaboration, “Mutfakta.” This time around, they take a cleaner approach with melody driven progression that opposes the raw electro from prior efforts. In effect, “NUMB3R5” will translate to bigger stages in addition to the club scene that they’ve previously dominated. Leave it up to Chuckie to keep us on our toes with this snippet before Big Beat and Cr2 release the track on May 14th.
Chuckie’s latest offering features his new Dirty Dutch duo, Glowinthedark, and exceeds usual expectations. Aptly named “Electro Dude,” the dirty Dutch chords and bass remain while the electro-house sound has been elevated to the next level. The track opens with a hypnotizing progression and builds anticipation for the profound drop, which while impressive, hardly does the track justice – yet. Seizure-inducing electro synths grow as the song progresses, providing for the deep kicking drums, all of which will rattle minds. With the vocal – “This is fucking electro, dude” – you can take this track as the new standard of electro-house that the Dirty Dutch crew will be outing this year. Released today via Big Beat Records, “Electro Dude” is now available on Beatport.

Ultra Music Festival is not only one of the most famed EDM weekends of the year, but also a forum for producers to test out new tracks. One of this years most notable premieres came from Laidback Luke’s mainstage set, when he was joined by Chuckie for the debut of “1234,” which also features Martin Solveig. The future anthem contains all the ingredients of a classic Laidback Luke track, only it is much, much bigger. Coming off his own MixMash records, Luke has every intention of “1234” dominating the summer and becoming a staple in the upcoming festival mayhem. “…To me 1234 is the epic-ness of the epic tracks, but I wasn’t even ready for such a huge success of this tune in such a short time,” Luke says.
Chuckie and Martin Solveig’s contributions do not come from the production end, but the vocal end, contributing the ‘1234’ live chant that is so similar to Chuckie’s “Who Is Ready To Jump.” The colossal production, which has already garnered support from Tiesto, Dada Life, and David Guetta, has no official release date but should be available sooner than later.
Chuckie’s most recent mix, his third installment of 54 Minutes of Funk, changes it up from the pure Dirty Dutch beats and adds in some underground tracks. Already known for his versatility, Chuckie pushes the envelope even further with an a
mped up selection of tech-house beats. The sudden burst of inspiration came from his recent set at Sensation Chile, an event that is known to strip music down to its underground roots. Finally, a mix without track predictability or easily identifiable bootlegs; check the tracklist below the break.

Dada Life’s “Rolling Stones T-Shirt” has long been a staple in the duo’s live sets, and we were starting to worry it would never see an official release. Thankfully, the track is finally here, and summer can now officially begin. This is the perfect Vegas pool party track: Dada’s signature electro synth and a thick bassline, not to mention the ideal drunk sing-a-long lyrics.
