You may be slowly trying to sooth post-Coachella depression, or you may be scouring to catch up on everything you missed from last weekend’s event in Indio. Either way, this morning we invite you to indulge in full on rave with Moby and his 75 minute Coachella set from this year. The set is hard-hitting, the set is euphoric, this set is nothing but a full on party for your ears. Moby performed at the first Coachella in 1999 and this year, he proved he’s still got it.
After two days of scorching sun, the earlier part of our third day in Indio was spent much the same way – glued to the tents where Paul Kalkbrenner, Paul Oakenfold, Hardwell, Eric Prydz, Joris Voorn, James Blake, Pretty Lights, Maya Jane Coles, Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, and Richie Hawtin would deliver some of the days stand out performances. As the day wore on the wind picked up, transforming the polo grounds into a massive dust storm, tearing through the campsites with a vengeance.
Coachella is now live from Indio, California. Although we can’t all be there for the festival’s first weekend, we can still relish in some high definition live sets from many of the festival’s top acts, courtesy of Coachella’s YouTube stream. Coachella’s Saturday lineup presented a new host of conflicts, while the Sahara and Yuma tents remained stacked with impressive talent, elsewhere in the festival some of most remixed indie bands in dance music were also performing. The Sahara Tent hosted Baauer, Kill The Noise, Bingo Players, Fedde Le Grand, Moby, while Yuma created refuge for fans of 2 Bears and Julio Bashmore. Rather than stay confined to the two dance music tents as promised, we explored the Polo grounds.
The lush green grass of The Empire Polo Club grounds swelled with half-naked twenty-somethings, bustling and buzzing like tributaries of people cutting through the crowd, flowing forth to the each of Coachella‘s six stages. The massive tents provided little relief from the desert’s sweltering heat, but underneath the Yuma tent, where Luciano would close that evening, was an air-conditioned safe haven. For those daring enough to brave the heat, the Sahara tent presented a spread of talent, including Boys Noize and Skrillex as the tandem Dog Blood. Our first day spent in Indio was defined by the Sahara and Yuma tents – and they will likely define the rest of our stay here.

If you’ve ever attended Coachella Arts and Music Festival, you need to thank Eddie Vedder. In 1993, Pearl Jam threw a concert that would inadvertently spark the birth for Coachella Arts and Music Festival. As part of a boycott against Ticketmaster, their management chose a venue in one of America’s hottest and driest locations; one with an undeveloped desert lawn that was several hours driving from any major population centers – Indio’s Empire Polo Club. As Pearl Jam performed in front of 25,000 fans, they proved Indio befitting for a large music festival. Since then the festival has gone through a a variety of growing pains, from struggling during early financial troubles to becoming the highest grossing event of its kind.
Word on the street today is that the famed dance music Sahara tent at Coachella will be employing the same incredible hexagonal visual displays used in Ultra Music Festival’s arched Mega Structure. Multiple different sources have either displayed pictures of the set up over sites like Instagram or Reddit. The Sahara tent mixes it up every year, and if this is in fact true it’s great news for West Coast fans that may have only been able to experience the Mega Structure through a YouTube live stream.
