Here at Dancing Astronaut, we realize that despite all our recent coverage of Miami Music Week, there was no possible way to encapsulate everything awesome about the festival. The moments are too fleeting, too numerous, and too personal to each individual. Thus, we are giving you, our readers, the ultimate chance to share your story. While the Coyote Kisses Cover won the community pick for the Beatport Play remix contest of Seven Lions‘ ”Days to Come,“ it was AU5 & I.Y.F.F.E. who took the overall honors for best remix. Hand-selected for the grand prize by Seven Lions himself, AU5 & I.Y.F.F.E.’s remix of “Days to Come” is a heavier drumstep take on Jeff Montalvo’s dreamy dubstep single. Completely reworking the melody and increasing the tempo to a more invigorating pace, AU5 & I.Y.F.F.E.’s take on “Days to Come” is menacing yet melodic. Those with an appetite for adrenaline will enjoy this rendition. Pick up the recently released OWSLA-sponsored remix on Beatport today.
It seems as though Deadmau5 has burned his music video budget for 2012 and is looking to fans to create a masterpiece to his collaboration with Imogen Heap, “Telemiscommunications.” Joel and Imogen Heap – heapmau5 – are looking for twenty different artists to work together to bring their idea to life. The story they are looking to animate revolves around a businessman unable to communicate effectively with those the he loves. Frustrations continue to grow until the businessman receives a text asking “Did I tell you I loved you today xx.” It’s an interesting concept and right up deadmau5′s alley, he’s reached out to his fans for contributions numerous times in the past. The contest ends December 10th, so read the full rules and fire up your favorite animation studio because who wouldn’t want their video seen by heapmau5′s combined 7.5 million fans.

Spanish sensation Danny Avila makes his New York debut this Friday, and we’ve got a special opportunity for one lucky Dancing Astronaut reader. One winner and three friends will receive passes to see not one set from Danny on Friday — but two: first during an intimate in-studio session at SiriusXM radio, and then late night at Pacha NYC. However, you’ll also win a VIP table at Pacha with a free bottle of champagne, just so you can end the day in style. This contest will run for just 24 hours, before we choose a winner Thursday evening. We ask that you do not enter if you knowingly cannot make it to both of the shows or if you’re under 21, but if those two matters are all squared away, enter through the Punchtab contest below.
Tiesto already has his own radio channel on SiriusXM with a very impressive lineup, but he’s looking to add a new show to the mix — and he’s giving you the chance to host it. For the contest, fifteen winners will each win tickets to an upcoming Club Life College Invasion tour date and host a one hour show that will air on Club Life Radio. At the tour’s conclusion, Tiesto himself will choose one of the candidates to host a monthly show on the channel for up to six months. It’s a pretty incredible opportunity for an aspiring DJ or producer — hit the link below for all the details, and be sure to enter before the contest closes on September 21st.

After hearing Michael Woods’ update to his classic tune “No Access,” we were worried he might be headed down the radio-friendly pop route so many of his colleagues are taking — thankfully this was not the case. The preview for his edit of “Diamond Rings” successfully quelled our fears, combining his usual electro grunginess with a melodic build.
In conjunction with the song’s release we’ve teamed up with Provoke to give away a one-of-a-kind commemorative skateboard. One winner will receive the deck as well as wall mounts provided by Toronto skate shop, So Hip It Hurts. All you have to do to enter is submit your information on Punchtab. The winner will be announced and contacted via email sometime next week. Good luck!
