Earlier this month, Dillon Francis set up a signed t-shirt auction to help raise money for After School Matters, a Chicago-based charity organization that fosters professional and creative growth for teens through extra curricular activities. Social media savvy Francis raised over $6,000 through the auction, with one shirt selling for over $1,500 alone.
Supporters took to Twitter to announce their thanks, and the big man himself sent a letter to all involved. Kudos go out to Flosstradamus too; the Chicago natives hold this charity close to heart and were also big donors.
DJ and production duo Oliver Goldstein and Vaughn Oliver — together, more simply Oliver — wrapped up duties on Zedd’s Moment of Clarity Tour and won’t miss the next beat with the release of their Mechanical Remixes EP. The EP showcases a remix of each of Oliver‘s original Mechanical tracks, with spins from some of the best in the dance music business. Dillon Francis’s remix of ”Night Is On My Mind“ features a moobahton bounce and heavy bass kick to the funky tune. Nom De Strip, Tchami, and Values transform the other three album tracks into a new glitch-step, tech house, and chillwave influenced EP.
While Flux Pavilion is busy crossing the continent on his Freeway Tour, the release of the first of four episodes documenting his exploits brought a treat amongst the many tricks. Though new track “I’m The One” with Dillon Francis was casually featured in the background of the tour shenanigans, Dillon took it to the forefront by posting the tune in its entirety. A light sort of heavy, the collab isn’t quite bossy enough for moombahton, not really dirty like dubstep, but results in an easy listening marriage of both genres, punctuated by a rather unromantic rendition of the title lyric. Due out on Flux’s – you guessed it – Freeway EP, the hybrid will be released sometime this month. To catch it sooner, check the video yourself or head here to snatch tickets for the rest of the tour.

Dillon Francis decided to celebrate his 26th birthday yesterday by releasing a short preview of his upcoming remix of Oliver‘s “Night Is On My Mind,” and it is one monster of a remix. Combining Dillon’s signature funky moombahton bounce with a gargantuan bass-filled kick that sends tremors down your spine, this is one massive remix from the birthday boy that is sure to get your head bumping and your body grooving. It is deep, dark, and crushes speaker systems, guaranteed. As he appropriately calls it, it’s “Big-ROOM-bahton.” The king of IDGAFOS shows zero signs of slowing down, and we want more. The official release will be on October 14th through none other than Fool’s Gold Records.
After dominating Hypem, Dillon Francis has thrust “Without You” back into the spotlight with its official music video. Combining still photography and spliced shots, the video gives the breakup song a face in the form of a sad but pretty girl who just can’t get out of bed. With T.E.E.D’s lyrics decorating dozens of shirts worn by the sorry star of the show, fans can sing and sigh along to the familiar feeling of being alone or get dizzy in the process. While cementing the emotional status of the single, while some continue to wonder who the tune is about, all we want to know is where we can get one of those tees.
After playing host to some incredible artists on day two of Electric Zoo, the head honcho of Fool’s Gold finally stepped behind the tables of the packed Riverside Clubhouse. The tent featured 3D visuals on the massive LED screens across the entire stage, for those who had previously picked up special glasses earlier in the day. For those who hadn’t done so, the light show was still impressive and when paired with A-Trak’s deftness on the decks, the overall experience was something epic to behold.
Battle of the Beats is a feature from Dancing Astronaut that pits two tracks that share the same title against one another to determine which production represents the name better. With the dance music community continually growing, producers, mashup artists and DJs alike constantly create new music, often of the same name. Now we are opening it up to our readers to weigh in on whose rendition takes the proverbial cake.
Meet The Competition
In a bizzarre ode to Zoolander, Dillon Francis summons an inner personality named DJ Hanzel. In search for a deep house party in Las Vegas, Dillon and Hanzel go back and forth with dialogue that beats the infamous Tiesto-burrito skit before running into Flosstradamus for a game of “How You Say.” For all the people asking DJ Hanzel if he makes real music… why don’t you just look one deeper.
