You may remember from last year’s EDC Las Vegas, Orlando, or White Wonderland a contest named The Discovery Project. Well, Insomniac is back again — generously offering a big break to bedroom producers everywhere for this year’s Beyond Wonderland. Do you think you might be qualified? They’re asking for a remix of James Egbert‘s track “Back to New” and a thirty-minute DJ mix recorded in real time. You can find the stems for the remix and more instructions here. This contest is open to any genre of electronic music, so get creative and think outside of the box. In addition to a potential performance spot at one of Southern California’s largest massives, you may also win promotional efforts on Insomniac’s powerful social media channels and consideration for Insomniac’s forthcoming DJ management project. Life could be pretty sweet.

For its second annual New Year’s Eve celebration, White Wonderland, Insomniac has created the chance of a lifetime for one lucky contestant. The Discovery Project pits daring contestants against one another to showcase their mastery of house music in the production and DJing arenas. To enter, you must remix the track “Countdown” by Bunny — it’s the one featured in the White Wonderland trailer — and then submit a thirty-minute DJ mix that reflects what you intend to play if you were opening the house stage at White Wonderland. If selected, you will join the White Wonderland lineup on New Year’s Eve alongside some of the biggest names in dance music today. Click past the break for full contest details.
Last month, we teamed up with Insomniac Events and Icon Collective Music Production School to offer you a chance to play at EDC Orlando. The time has come to announce the winners, who will be playing the Neon Garden Stage this Saturday, November 10th. The aspiring DJs had to put together a 30-minute mix to showcase their talents, then create an original track to seal the deal. Of all the entrants, 11 emerged victorious. See who made the cut after the jump and listen to their collection of tracks on Soundcloud. If you still don’t have your EDC Orlando tickets in hand, grab ‘em while they’re hot!
