Sunday Morning Medicine is a feature from Dancing Astronaut dedicated to the mellower side of electronic music. We bring you our favorite therapeutic selections — old and new — in an attempt to alleviate the agonizing effects of a long weekend of partying.

Now that the insanity of Miami Music Week and Ultra has finally come to close, it’s time for some serious resting and recuperation. This week’s edition of Sunday Morning Medicine is light enough to soothe your overexposed ear drums, but groovy enough to have you harkening for a return to the lovely South Beach. With a garage track from Kastle, an assemblage of deep house tunes from Tiga and Cillo, and some indie dance remixes from Anoraak and C2C, this week’s SMM is just what you need to get you back on your feet.

If you missed any of last week’s more chilled out selections, make sure out DCUP and Lenno’s nu-disco collab, “Supafine,” Andrew Bayer’s latest album preview, “Lose Sight,” and Jonas Rathsman and Nibc’s collaborative Levitate EP. Duke Dumont – Need U (100%) (Skream Remix)

Skream

Back in January, Duke Dumont dropped “Need U (100%)” on Blasé Boys Club, and now the groovy, deep disco track has gotten the Skream treatment. Just what the “Skream treatment” entails has come to change over the past few months. After going back-to-back with Disclosure in the Boiler Room, releasing the soulful Kreepin’, and recently previewing his newest house original “Bang That,” we are witnessing the dawning of a new Skream. His take on Duke Dumont’s “Need U (100%)” is a resplendent and genial house remix on the cheerful vocal track: a dazzling declaration of his new direction. Skream’s remix of “Need U (100%)” will be released on March 31st.

With chart-topping releases like “Street Walker” and “The Giver” tucked firmly under his belt, British house producer Duke Dumont has returned to the production front with his latest installment, “Need U (100%).” The track, an inaugural outing on the Blasé Boys Club imprint, is supported by  A*M*E’s delicate feminine vocals on top of a well-produced nu-disco/house cut. This floor-friendly track is packed with groovy synth work that is punchy in all the right places. If you haven’t hopped on the Duke Dumont wagon yet, make sure to check out his recent Essential Mix debut where he showcases exactly what he’s all about.

Duke Dumont takes Essential Mix decks as one of Radio 1′s Future Stars

Duke Dumont

As part of Radio 1‘s ongoing campaign to highlight the best of rising talent at the beginning of 2013, this week’s Essential Mix brought in UK producer Duke Dumont as Annie Mac‘s choice for a “Future Star” in dance music. Duke Dumont had an unreal year in 2012 in terms of production — putting out a string of records that basically every DJ in the scene played at some point in their sets. Tracks like “The Giver,” “Need U (100%),” “Thunder Clap,” and “No Money Blues” were all fantastic outputs and put Dumont solidly back on the map and among the elite of dance music today. His mix is true to form and as he says, is basically just a sampling of some of his favorite tracks to play in sets. We loved every minute of it. Stream below and jump back the break for a complete tracklist.

Duke Dumont – The Giver (Tiga Remix)

Initially, superstars like Avicii were some of the first to give rave reviews to Duke Dumont’s “The Giver,” a track released on Tiga’s label, Turbo Recordings. With a powerful set of vocals and a catchy chord sequence, it gained support from artists all across the dance music spectrum. When put into the hands of the label master himself, a progressive journey was molded around timeless lead-play and uniquely looped vocal sequences — breathing new life into an already stellar track. Tiga — being the innovator and pioneer of electronic music that he is — makes any release a welcomed treat. His take on “The Giver” is layered with hypnotizing rhythm, a gently thumping bassline, and reworked vocals that stands out from its original counterpart.
