Following the release of the Electric Daisy Carnival 2014 trailer, Insomniac announced that any headliners who had attended previous iterations of the event would be eligible for an exclusive “Headliner Loyalty” pre-sale program that would grant them early access to tickets before the official sale date. On November 25th, this pre-sale was opened up to Insomniac’s loyal fans. The program also allowed fans to purchase their tickets through Insomniac’s tiered pricing system, resulting in some confusion as numerous fans reported different final costs. Always outspoken and available to Insomniac customers, Rotella took to his Facebook to calm any fears and explain the pricing issues
Those unable to snag their tickets through the loyalty program can purchase them during the “Early Owl” purchase period set for December 2nd. Tickets for the three-day event will cost $345 plus fees during this time.
Capturing the energy of Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas with only a video camera is hard to do. The feeling of the festival grounds as they buzz and breathe with a palpable excitement never translates well to celluloid. This year Bingo Players took Las Vegas by storm, dispatching one of the most frantic sets of the weekend and leaving a stomped out crater in their wake. As fast-paced and unrelenting as the music they make, Bingo Players EDC Las Vegas recap — defined by fast cuts and faster kicks — does well to embody the peak of the EDC experience.
It’s often been rumored that Electric Daisy Carnival would eventually make a return to its birthplace in California, but up until recently Pasquale Rotella has remained silent regarding a possible venue change. When prompted by an interested fan on Twitter, the outspoken Insomniac CEO spoke about his possible interest in holding an event back in Los Angeles County. Rotella’s response explained that the LA Coliseum would be too small for EDC but that he was “open to venues in SoCal” and went on to discuss how he had considered the Auto Club Freeway in Fontana but was turned off by its 11 p.m. curfew.

It’s hard to fathom exactly what $35 million will buy you in festival production these days, but it’s certainly no small sum. Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella told the New York Post that they’ll be “stepping it up [EDC Las Vegas] year,” and focusing the “largest percentage of [the] money [on] production” — a statement that falls right in line with Insomniac’s priority to cater to the fans as “headliners” rather than superstar DJs. When Rotella was asked to elaborate further he simply stated, “we’re creating an environment along the lines of what you see at a theme park — but on an even larger scale.”
