HARD Day of the Dead releases official trailer
HARD Events has just released its official trailer for this year's Day of the Dead in Los Angeles, but this trailer is no typical sing-songy festival preview. Gary Richards and his team have instead landed on a film noir spoof where Gaslamp Killer is mass murdering the lineup out of spite. It's cheeky, it's got a handful of cameos from Skrillex, Beni from Jack Beats, Giorgio Moroder, and of course "The Killer" himself. Single day and two day passes are still available at http://www.harddayofthedead.com/ for November 2 and November 3.
Hard Summer Sunday: Brodinski, Gesaffelstein, Dillon Francis, and Dirtybird highlight superlative closing day
Hordes of Los Angelenos returned for the second and final day of HARD Summer 2013 -- ready for another twelve hours of frolicking in cool tents, woodchipped stage grounds, and dusty lawns areas of the Los Angeles State Historic Park. For diehard fans of Ed Banger Records and Dirtybird, the two labels owned their own stages on Sunday (on the Summer Stage and Underground Tent, respectively). Bromance fiends got sets from both Brodinski and Gessafelstein, and those prone towards the "HARDer" sounds soaked in the grinding basslines of Flosstradamus, Dillon Francis, Baauer, and Clockwork. Pasquale Rotella, Gary Richards, Perry Farrell talk festivals at EDMBiz Day 2
The final panel of EDMBiz Day 2 this year was owned by the festivals. With some of the world's largest festival promoters lined up on the conference's stage together, it was a bit of a rare opportunity to hear these mastermind planners speak on some of the top issues and topics of the hour -- anything from "boutique festivals" to radius clauses to sponsorships.
