London-based Jacob Plant has released a pulsing production with “Shakedown” via Calvin Harris’ Fly Eye Records. Starting the track off with a surging buildup, Plant delivers a dubstep-certified output with plunging bass and electro style. The talented producer transitions from escalating progressions to stabbing synths before unloading crashing sub bass — satisfying dubsteppers and electro enthusiasts alike. A relentless yet infectious offering, “Shakedown” is powerful start to Plant’s year and, with future releases in the works, hopefully only a precursor of what’s to come from the rising producer.
A few days ago we previewed Jacob Plant’s dubstep remix of the Buy viagra soft cheapest tab
ank”>Scarletz’ “Killer Instinct.” Well if you enjoyed that, then you’re luck. Jacob Plant is giving his brand new July Mix away for free. Jacob Plant is one of our favorite up and coming dubstep artists. If you consider yourself a dubstep fan, you might recognize his fantastic remixes of Oh Land’s “Sun Of A Gun” and Benny Benassi’s “Control.” Skream and Benga just recently previewed Jacob’s upcoming remix of The Scarletz’ “Killer Instinct” on BBC radio 1. With support from two of the biggest names in bass music, you know it is good. If you like heavy bass and big time wobble dubstep then check this out below!
We’re just going to be honest and ask the first question that springs to mind when listening to “Control” – is this the next “Cinema?” Gary Go’s vocals are as lush and catchy as ever, and it has endless remix potential. Case in point: while the original version is a typical Benassi production, with the hi-hat and kickdrum we all know so well, the Gigi Barocco mix is a rollicking, wild track with perfectly-placed claps, and the Jacob Plant’s provides the perfect dubstep twist. We haven’t been this excited and moved by a track in quite some time.
Have a listen to all three after the jump and let us know which is your favorite… and if you see big things happening for this track like we do. MMW 2012 anthem, anyone?
