It’s Thursday, which means it’s almost Friday but before we start celebrating the arrival of the weekend let’s recap today’s news and releases. The most exciting bit of news is that a Swedish storm is set to blow through New York City on Halloween. Although there are still some pieces to put together, we do know the storm will be comprised of Sebastian Ingrosso, Otto Knows, and Alesso. Read on for the rest of today’s roundup. (more…)
Jerry Rekonius is one of the more underrated producers in EDM. Releases like “Powahbunga” and “Paranormal” surely justify why it’s about time the young Swede gains more attention. As the track begins with an array of whiny synths that sound quite mysterious, and crunching bass lines that are Dada Life-esque, it’s no wonder Olle and Stefan highly support Rekonius’s latest release on Spinnin’ Records.
As an act of condolence for those spending Valentine’s day alone, Jerry Rekonius thoughtfully served up this free bootleg of M83′s “Midnight City” on his SoundCloud page. While we thought Eric Prydz’s remix of this track was the pinnacle, Jerry brings us a very respectable progressive house version of the popular indie song. After big original tracks like “Powahbunga” and “10th,” we’ve come to expect this level of production from the young Swede.
22 year old Jerry Rekonius released this dancefloor destroyer Monday as a followup to his previous hit track “Powahbunga“. “10th” is a bigtime progressive tune with building synths that lead to a giant reverberating baseline. Released on Oxygen Records, you’re bound to hear this one featured in some huge DJ sets this year.

Jerry Rekonius is back in action with his latest release of “Powahbunga,” for those of you that are not familiar with his name – this is the guy that created “Higher.” Powahbunga is a blend of Deniz Koyu’s “Hertz” and John Dahlback’s “Phoenix.” The build up allows you to n-joy that spiritual sounding bassline, while giving you the extra energy with the extended drop. This is one of those tunes that can be played by a progressive or electro artist, because it rides that fine line perfectly. Look for this to take over a dancefloor near you!
