Kim Fai – The Eagle Has Landed (Original Mix) [Preview]

kim-fai-eagle-has-landed

“The Eagle Has Landed,” Kim Fai‘s first release of 2013 and one that comes nearly six months after September’s Petrichor EP sees Fai blurring the genre lines yet again, blending a trance lead with churning electro house breaks. Opening with Apollo 11 soundbites, this Astronaut-friendly original builds slowly amid multi-layered synthwork only to be interrupted by a thunderous kick and guttural electro stabs.  ”The Eagle Has Landed” will be available on March 11th via Magik Musik.

Kim Fai is known to produce quality club tracks – think his remix of “Sun & Moon” or originals like “Zen” and “Nano.” Back with his progressive and big room crossover sound, Fai has released “In The Night,” a typical dance track made bigger by the vocal from Paul Aiden. “In The Night” covers all production points that a club rocker should be made of – punchy chords, big leads, blissful melody and progression that is bound together for the DJ booth. Kim Fai’s “In The Night” has been released on Beatport via Toolroom Records, so get your club fix on this music monday.

Between enlisting Benny Benassi and Martin Solveig for the majority of the production, making a controversial appearance at Ultra Music Festival, and naming her album MDNA, it’s no secret that Madonna is looking for a way into the world of electronic music. The pop legend has taken her love for the genre a step further, releasing a remix package of “Girl Gone Wild” that features no less than eight electronic interpretations. Madonna has taken her single from electro-pop to all styles of house, delegating remix duties to artists like Avicii, Dada Life, and Kim Fai. The package is a well-balanced offering that contains everything from a festival anthem to a progressive club mix. Continue reading to preview the release.

Madonna – Girl Gone Wild (Kim Fai Remix) [Preview]

kimfai

Kim Fai has decided to abandon his softer progressive style on his latest preview of Madonna’s “Girl Gone Wild.” A hard 303 beat is what Kim Fai surprisingly uses to remix the queen of pop’s track. Acid house was once a huge global phenomenon, and artists like Nicky Romero, Tommy Trash, Bart B More, and Kim Fai are reviving the 303 beat to incredibly new levels. LMFAO – Party Rock Anthem (Alesso + Kim Fai Remixes)

Party Rock Anthem

Another contender for anthem of the Summer — in our opinion at least — is the “Party Rock Anthem” which is a typical LMFAO track but has an infectious chorus that just makes you want to, uh, party rock. We’ve already seen some other remixes to the tune, but Alesso’s take on the feel good track has finally dropped, so you know we had to let you all know about it. It’s an Amazon MP3 exclusive, and costs just $.99, so you should definitely head over and pick up this bad boy: it’s a monster.

LMFAO ft. Lauren Bennett & GoonRock – Party Rock Anthem (Benny Benassi & Kim Fai Remixes)

LMFAO’s ‘Party Rock Anthem’ was a catchy electro pop (with heavy elements of house) track that turned on quite a few ‘mainstreamers’ into fans of EDM. Think of ‘mainstreamers’ as wizards would think of ‘muggles’ in the Harry Potter series. Listen to two of the remixes below and get excited for Alesso’s remix to come out shortly!

Benny Benassi’s signature sound is all over his remix, you can hear it in the drop. Who doesn’t like a little old school Benny combined with a new age song?

Kim Fai creates a mellow progressive tune that meshes powerful synths with some unique horns that are scattered throughout the remix. Definitely suitable for a club or iPod near you!

Nick Galea ft. Amba Shepherd – In My Life (Kim Fai Remix)

Dancing Astronaut had the luxury of seeing Kim Fai three times during our week long stay in Miami in late March. We loved his stuff before seeing him live, but he took it to a whole different level. He is truly one of the most talented DJ’s and packed some originality in every set we listened too. That being said his creation of “Zen” was arguably his biggest track to date and he follows it up with his remix of “In My Life”. The combination of Amba Shepherd’s vocals meshed with the incredible piano-house build up makes this a must have track for the summer season. It is quite beautiful really.

BONUS: Original Mix – Loved the Kim Fai remix, however we should not overlook the original mix as well. Nick Galea sets the tone for Kim Fai to add his ‘big room’ touches to the track.
