If you have not noticed, Bromance Record continues steadily along what seems to be a never ending hot streak. Brodinski’s gritty music captivates time and time again, and his US tour will prove to be no different. If you haven’t had a chance to experience his mastery on stage, do yourself a favor and experience it once and for all.
This Thursday, Dancing Astronaut is offering you a chance to see Brodinski at New York’s Slake, along with a photo opportunity with Brodinski and his supporting act Louisahhh!!! Just enter the contest below, and good luck! Contest ends Thursday morning, and winners will be notified via email.
Following her solo stage turn, Bromance’s leading lady has joined forces with LA-based producer Craig Williams on a delightfully dark techno EP that showcases the best of what each artist has to offer. Louisahhh!!! sounds downright menacing on title track “Rawhide,” snarling against the Australian transplant’s rhythmic pulsing bass backdrop and tightly coiled percussion. Despite technically being the B-side, “Chip a Tooth” is every bit as appealing as its predecessor, allowing Louisahhh!!! to revel in sneering “I’m too tough for you” over Williams’s varied and overdriven rolling bass line. Motorik mainstays JoeFarr and CSMNT61 both provide remix support on “Rawhide” as well, serving up thumping throwback and bassy percussive takes respectively to complement the attitude-laden vocal leads.

While many of Manhattan’s clubgoers were spending their Memorial Day Weekends on one of the tri-state areas overcrowded beaches, a small contingent of nightlife addicts ascended the main staircase at Webster Hall into the open space and vaulted ceilings that define its Grand Ballroom. A smaller crowd than usual for a Friday at Webster, the subdued vibes were a welcome change that allowed for comfortable dancing and an up-close-and-personal view of the night’s main attraction — Brodinski and Gesaffelstein accompanied by Bromance’s leading lady Louisahhh!!!

Bromance Records first lady Louisahhh returns to Brodinski’s imprint with her first solo EP for the label — offering up two tracks that have the signature Bromance punch with Lousiahhh’s delicate and moving touch. Both tracks are dance floor focused with “Tap My Wire” using thumping chord progression to draw the listener in and faint flicks of the piano to add a mesmerizing effect. “In My Veins” is laden with rhythm and groove, using the downtempo approach for the late-night dance floor faithfuls.

We know what you’re thinking – a summer mixtape as the forbidding weather of winter approaches? If you’re anything like us, the first sign of winter has us fantasizing about the far ahead summer months. Allow today’s Good Morning Mix from Bromance Records artist Louisahhh to turn things back a few pages. This thirty minute mix features the deeper, sexier pastures of house music — the exact sound Louisahh has been championing over the past few months. As a vocalist and producer, her works are present throughout the segment. Her collaborations with Brodinski on “Let The Beat Control Your Body” and “Nobody Rules The Streets” were big hits this summer — so if you missed them by chance, check the mix below. Full track list after the jump.
It’s been awhile since I have listened to a track that made my jaw drop, one where the only way to describe it is with a deep breath and a long exasperated “FUCK. ME.” Brodinski’s latest, and his second collaboration with Louisahhh!, is that type of track. Dark and brooding with one helluva kick, “Nobody Rules The Streets” might not be for casual dance music fans — but for those of us looking for something less predictable (and ultimately more inspired) it’s complete perfection. Louisahhh!’s vocals work perfectly overlaid atop the wailing sirens while the deep groove and bone-rattling kick keeps you entranced.
Even in its infancy, the Bromance imprint continues to release monstrous tracks from up-and-coming talent. Be on the look out to grab the Bromance #3 EP when it drops on June 11th for more goth-tinged French electro.
