John Dahlback ft. Agnes – Life (Diamonds in the Dark) (Original + Remixes)

John Dahlback Life Diamonds in the Dark

A year after “Life” was first introduced to via Tiësto’s Club Life Volume 2, Dahlback provides us with his revamped vocal version, “Diamonds in the Dark,” which spins new energy into the already blissful track. The Swede shows off his home country’s never-ending pool of talent by asking one of Sweden’s biggest pop stars, Agnes Carlsson, to deliver the lush lyrics. The original instrumental was declared Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune, which naturally made it an easily recognizable set favorite across the board, and was even included in our Top 50 Tracks of 2012.

The Big Beat Records release comes with three remixes from the likes of Australian newcomers Feenixpawl, Canadian electro-stars Lazy Rich and fellow Swede’s Lunde Bros. Feenixpawl brings the glitchy rendition, Lazy Rich offers the big room electro house, and Lunde Bros switch things minimal. Dahlback wanted to showcase up-and-coming talent rather than go with the most well-known artists – a fantastic decision on his part judging by the depth of the remixes below.

John Dahlback feat. Agnes – Life (Diamonds in the Dark) (Original + Remixes) [Preview]

John Dahlback Life Diamonds in the Dark

John Dahlback’s ”Life” was one of our favorite tracks from 2012. In fact, it even made our ‘Top 50 Biggest Tracks of 2012′ list. Like many standout singles before it, months have passed and a vocal version has finally surfaced. Catalyzed by the likes of Swedish singer Agnes, “Life” has been revamped by into a more club-oriented cut and subtitled “Diamonds in the Dark.”

Accompanying the release of Dahlback’s vocal-enhanced original will be three diverse remixes from FeenixpawlLazy Rich, and Lunde Bros. While Australians Feenixpawl provide a glitchy rendition, Lazy Rich instills his characteristic brand of spastic electro house. Lunde Bros round out the remix contingent with a bouncy minimal take on the euphoric original. The entire “Life (Diamonds in the Dark)” package is set to be released on Big Beat Records on February 25th. Click past the break to hear the vocal version of “Life” and its three forthcoming remixes.

Seamus Haji & Nelski – Hey Boy, Hey Girl (Lunde Bros Remix)

lundebros

The Lunde Bros, who are beginning to make a name for themselves with releases like “Tell Me” and “If You Wanna” already under their proverbial 2012 belts, return to bring us their electro house remix of “Hey Boy, Hey Girl.” The Chemical Brothers’ 1999 hit was defined by its spooky, almost hypnotic hook. The Lunde Bros have sprinkled in their own arpeggios and heavy synths to create an irresistible dirty dance groove that successfully add a modern day twist to the retro song. We can’t wait to see what else the brothers come up with.

Lunde Bros – Tell Me (Original Mix)

Lunde-Bros

Following up from their impressive package consisting of “If You Wana” and “Knifeproblems”, the Swedish brothers release yet another brilliant tune. Among their usual “bouncy” samples and beeps, the Lunde Brothers surprise us by blending uplifting melodic synths into the build up. Once the “Tell Me” drops, its tech house inspired drums combined with its heavy bass and bleepy sounds are sure to make everyone on the dance floor will go nuts.

Lunde Bros – Saga (Myback Mix)

lundebros

John Dalhback and Albin Myers combine their names (and talents) to create “MyBack”. Their style is so hard to describe – it is just so out there with the electro and progressive influences. The “Saga” remix is really everywhere, as you listen to the track it changes from every transitionary stage. This is definitely one of those tracks that you don’t want to skip through in order to get to the juicy section (usually the drop), because it is full of power in its entirety. Vessel SF is hosting John Dahlback tomorrow, so we better see you there! All the astronauts will be present early at Vessel in order to see Nima and Jared open for John, you are more than welcome to take a shot (or 10) with us.
