In two days the Electric Daisy Carnival will descend on Citi Field in Queens, bringing with it a lineup featuring some of the best names in techno and tech house. In celebration of New York’s embrace of the darker side of dance music, Marquee New York and M-nus will be hosting an exclusive afterparty with the legendary Richie Hawtin on Friday, May 17th. With support from New York residents Sleepy & Boo, the revered techno legend will bring his technical expertise and artful production talents to New York City’s newest and most extravagant club.
In anticipation for his May 4th show at New York’s recently reopened Marquee nightclub, Adrian Lux has prepared a silky smooth mix showcasing his tastes for more melodic side of house music. Opening with his own “Damaged,” Lux spends the next 20 minutes swiftly moving through a bevvy of tracks with sugar coated synthwork and catchy top lines. It’s an easily digestible, sonically satisfying breakfast guaranteed to shake off the morning blues.
The doors of Marquee NY have reopened this month, and Dubfire and Chuckie have already broken in the brand DJ new booth. These were no ordinary renovations done to the nightclub, it was a strategic construction to accommodate to dance music production; massive LED screens, lasers galore, and a Funktion-one sound system.

New York nightlife has been abuzz with rumors surrounding the new wave of clubs planning to invade Manhattan island in 2013. None perhaps have been shrouded in mystery as much as the re-opening of the prestigious Marquee NY. There has been no official word yet when the newly renovated club is scheduled to open its doors, but we’ve got reason to believe its grand opening is imminent. Techno dynamo, Dubfire lists the new hotspot as a tour date on January 18th which would be directly in line with Marquee NY’s supposed focus on the techier side of dance music.
Nightlife in New York is about to get a whole lot more exciting, with a number of new or updated clubs being announced by some of the biggest players in the game. Finale NYC (pictured above) will be opening next week as a partnership between the EMM Group and owners of Pacha NYC, Space Ibiza confirms that it will be opening a location in New York, and Marquee NY is under major renovations — and is said to have a partnership in place with Tiesto (see update below).
