Chimes highlights his penchant for the classic — throwing in more than enough soul, lusty piano riffs, and dirty groove-based samples for the adoring vintage house fan. Dare we call this…perfect? Before jumping into the music, Steve spoke upon topics such as the final tour of Swedish House Mafia, the future of his solo career, and his upcoming album Wild Youth, which he revealed will be ready for March 2013.

Of course, we’re talking about Madeon — the young phenomenon whose impressive studio talents mirror that of his live performances. A rarity in today’s EDM scene, you won’t get generic outro-intro transitions in his mixes. Everything is fast-paced, with greater emphasis on harmonics as opposed to simple beat-matching. So who better to take on one of Annie Mac’s Five Minute Minimixes than Madeon?
Compiling 93 tracks in 5 minutes (roughly 3.3 seconds per song) is nothing short of astonishing, but that’s what makes Madeon, well, Madeon. The launch pad master sampled everything from Lady Gaga and the Beatles, to Deadmau5 and Daft Punk, making his previous “Pop Culture” mash-up/mix look like child’s play.
