Hiding behind a mask of mystery, the French Express label has received mass critical acclaim for a unique juxtaposition of quality Deep House and Indie Dance releases from prestigious house producers Perseus and Jonas Rathsman. Straying far away from the big-room sound that has dominated the electronic music market in recent years, the ‘protectors of the feel good’ have provided an oasis for fans that desire the melodic emotion of the underground. US fans continuously desire for the true Scandinavian club sounds of label-mates Moon Boots and Isaac Tichauer to be brought to their hometowns, and they can finally rejoice, as French Express has announced a 10-stop US tour featuring the four artists that make the French Express label ever so successful. Though the tour itself will last less than two weeks, fans across the country will have an opportunity to see the spectacle live as the artists give themselves only one day off over the span of their tour.

Moon Boots aims to keep summer alive as the autumn chill creeps upon us. Living up to French Express label’s motto, “protectors of the feel good,” the producer strips the original synths and lays his own nu-disco groundwork under Lauren Mayberry’s radiant vocals. If you’re looking for new songs to throw in the playlist for that one last summer BBQ get-together, this one will surely be welcome.

Now that June is here and summer is in full swing for many, the grills are showing themselves and the parties are moving outside all around the country. True to the recent renaissance of many of the 70s’ favorite genres, French Express’s Moon Boots released a “Backyard Boogie Mix” this past weekend, and it is perfect for BBQs with both your parents and your friends. Funk is the name of the game on this one, but don’t expect him to stay too predictable over the course of the almost 50 minute mix. The only thing we’d change is the length — you’ll be left wanting more.
And now for his next trick, Moon Boots has released French Express’s 34th addition to the catalog, a treasured slice of the sound of 2013 entitled “Love Strong.” Supported by its mischievous melody, heavily filtered mid-ranges, and a jubilant series of piano riffs and claps, Moon Boots creates a song that is literally impossible not to enjoy. This one’s for the books.
What’s better than four amazing tracks? What’s that you say — four amazing tracks on a single release? Although the world has seen all of the tracks in some shape or form on Bondax‘s Gold EP out this week, it’s certainly nice to get them all in a single package for the first time. Gold includes “Baby I Got That” and Justin Martin’s booty bass remix along with “Gold” and Moon Boots’ dreamy remix. It’s a strong play for a teenage UK duo often compared to a certain other young production team these days and if future work shapes up to be this solid, they’ll be two-stepping and side-chaining for years to come.
Moon Boots, one of the newer members of the buzzing French Express label, has remixed Bondax‘s latest single “Gold.” The result, as expected, is quite lovely. There is little chance that if you are a fan of garage, nu-disco, or just feeling good when you listen to music, that you will dislike this song. The remix slaps hard across the face with huge, warm synths and pads and cranks up the 2 step. Happy Friday, happy almost March, happy listening. Click below the break for a stream.
The French Express-approved producer returns to Earth for his latest production, “No One” which he is now giving away as a free download on his Soundcloud page. Still rearing from his releases like “Running From” and “Sugar” from the last few months, Moon Boots delivers another tropical, boogie-heavy original that is bound to slap a smile on your face. “No One” mixes the 80s synth, deep house, and playful disco stews all into one pot and doesn’t look back for one second. Ready for a road trip or maybe just your morning commute? French-Californian Zimmer, drawing from disco, house, and funk alike, warms your body and slows your anxiety on this April 2012 edition of his monthly mixtapes. Zimmer always derives his monthly tapes from different themes and last April’s was inarguably focused on drawing up a soundtrack fit for wanderlust, adventure, and carefree daydreaming. Using both his own productions and those of nu-disco and house champs like Housse De Racket, Goldroom, Moon Boots, Tensnake, and Sebastien Tellier, Zimmer delivers a perfectly delightful and enlightening mix for your morning.
