In the dead of winter, the beats flying out of Toolroom Records are still hot. “Let’s Go,” released this week by Hungarians Muzzaik & Dave Martin, is a pleasing output representing some of the best the progressive house production camp has to offer these days. As they say, this is “big room EDM that passes the quality control test of Toolroom Records.” That’s good enough for us. Preview and purchase after the break.

German-born David Puentez has released a preview of his new single, “Envy,” and we’re digging it. In conjunction with the original mix he’s also included a remix by Muzzaik, which will drop on the same day. Puentez’ last release was reminiscent of Avicii and although “Envy” starts off similarly that’s where the similarities end.
The track’s build up is soft and melodic but the drop hits hard. The tough beats at the end of the preview remind us slightly of “Disco Electrique” by the Bingo Players and Chocolate Puma — if for some reason you haven’t heard this yet we highly encourage you to check it out.
Check out Muzzaik’s remix after the jump.

A soulful, disco-infused house track gets a major dose of electro thanks to Muzzaik; the Hungarian DJ duo reworked David Penn’s “Join Us” into a modern anthem while keeping its jubilant energy intact. Lisa Millett’s voice has the classic feel of Crystal Waters or Max’C, and only sounds better over an addictive four-note melody that’s seriously stuck in our heads. Muzzaik’s “Join Us” remix represents the perfect bridge between the past and future of house: one part emotion and soul, one part driving bassline and aggressive synth.
