Ultra Europe has upped the ante with six further additions to the three-day debut in Croatia from July 12 through 14. The likes of Chase & Status, Cazzette and Deniz Koyu will join headliners Afrojack, Armin Van Buuren & Avicii across the two day spree at Poljud Stadium in Split, adding further spots from Adam Beyer and Yousef to extend the eclectic line-up. On top of the main event action, Aussie sisters Nervo will accompany Steve Aoki, Dada Life and Erick Morillo for the festival’s exclusive beachside finale at the Hotel Amfora Grand Beach Resort on Hvar Island. Set to stir more than 40,000 attendees and bringing UMF TV along for the ride for those unable to make the trip, Ultra Europe looks to successfully extend the reign of Ultra to pastures blue and gold this summer.

One of the champions of the French house sound, Fred Falke, takes on Nervo’s latest original “Hold On” injecting the mix with a hearty dose of glowing synthesis. Known for his beautifully composed productions, Falke was previously responsible for our favorite remix of Nero’s “Reaching Out” and the talented Frenchman approaches “Hold On” with similar poise and sophistication. Delicately reworking the original with buzzing lo-fi synthwork and charming melodies, Falke transforms Liv and Mim’s original into a silky smooth outing suitable for mellow afternoons and summer sunsets.
As Sultan & Ned Shepard and Nervo’s “Army” continues to conquer dance floors both large and small, two new versions have joined in the battle. Israel’s young Dean Cohen and LA’s Bass King and X-Vertigo were enlisted for remixes, each putting a fresh spin on the anthem. Cohen ratcheted up Omarion’s vocal with a heavy dose of electro while the California team took it to a more progressive, pop place. With both efforts increasing the track’s staying power, the remixes will be released April 22 through Strictly Rhythm.
The Coachella countdown has officially commenced, and with just over a week to go, it’s time to start planning your afterparties. This year the clubs will descend on the Renaissance Esmeralda Hotel, bringing four unmissable parties to Weekend 1.
Greystone Manor and SBE Nightlife nabbed the Friday spot, bringing Nervo to Desert Sessions Night. Chuckie and The EC Twins follow with XIV at Hyde Beach’s day party Saturday, with Morgan Page as presented by XS closing out the night. Sultan & Ned Shepard and LA Riots cap off the weekend’s festivities, headlining Encore Beach’s Sunday pool party.
Though the weekend pass has sold out, VIP and bottle service is still available and can be purchased here.
Mim and Liv gave their Ultra Music Festival main stage crowd three premieres last month, one of which they announced would be released in the coming weeks . After a proper debut, Nervo‘s latest effort has hit the release circuit — but it won’t stop there. “Hold On” is one of the duo’s most heart-felt tracks measured by its vocals, and one of their biggest measured by its climax. More subtle than previous offerings, their latest grows on ears and feet only moments in. As promised, the Aussies bring forth their latest just in time for festival season courtesy of Astralwerks.
Best of Instagram is a feature from Dancing Astronaut that showcases our favorite pictures from our favorite DJs on Instagram each week. This week, we feature gems from Kaskade, Skrillex, Seth Troxler, and more.
After enlisting the vocal talents of Omarion, Sultan & Ned Shepard and Nervo delivered their powerful pop-house crossover, “Army” back in February. A little over a month later enters Tom Swoon, the Polish producer responsible for the hit “Not Too Late,” giving the radio-friendly original a jolt of big room adrenaline. Swoon does well to manage the original’s melodies while wrenching on some thunder of his own, marching “Army” into anthemic territory with a festival-friendly aesthetic.
Nervo dominated Ultra Music Festival‘s main stage this past Sunday, and one track stands out above the rest from their hour-long set. When Liv and Mim announced a new song that would be released next week, the afternoon crowd erupted. When they actually dropped it, however, there was hysteria at Bayfront. “Hold On” boasts the most heart-felt melody-vocal combination that we’ve heard from the Aussie twins and the climax boosts the emotion with a skyrocketing force. Nervo’s latest production will hit the release circuit on April 9th and its remix package will follow on May 7th.
