A few weeks back, we previewed the latest single “Still The Same Man” from Dutch superstar Nicky Romero, John Christian, and Nilson. The full release is now available for your enjoyment on Toolroom Records. This is a sound some of you might not recognize out of Mr. Romero: he returns to his “Camorra” roots with a clean cut and hopping tech house track that eases right in line with much of Toolroom’s catalogue. There’s no “Toulouse” or “Metropolis” in this one, ladies and gents, but seeing producers oscillate back and forth between different sounds is a beautiful thing. Toolroom Records is out with an official preview of the latest (or simply previously unreleased) track “Still The Same Man” from none other than Mr. Nicky Romero — with support from fellow Dutchmen Nilson and John Christian. We were pleasantly surprised to hear something a little different from Nicky; he trades out his signature growling bass line a la “Toulouse” or “Metropolis” for a cleaner, bouncy Toolroom tech track. It’s a refreshing breath of life for big room producers like Nicky, and we admire his diversity in production. Click through for the preview and watch out for a full release on February 4th.
As a follow-up to their remix of Cosmo Klein’s “By Tonight,” the 8th Note and Nilson have teamed up again to create an original production called “Transformers.” This track features a melodic synth lead-in and a hard-hitting drop that offers more punch than some previous releases we’ve seen from these collaborators. Head over to Beatport to pick up the full-length which was released today on Fedde Le Grand and Funkerman’s Flamingo Recordings label.
Nilson and The 8th Note join forces once again to remix Cosmo Klein’s “By Tonight.” The track was released on Tocadisco’s TOCA45 Recordings and was featured in Nicky Romero’s Essential Mix all in the same day. Cosmo Klein lends his deeper vocal to the catchy antics of Nilson and The 8th Note, resulting in a big room vibe lead by captivating chord progression, piercing synths, and enormous crashes. The track’s climax could be compared to the climax of John Dahlback’s “Life,” simply massive. Give “By Tonight” a listen and head to Beatport for the download.

Niels van de Pavert, aka Nilson, is yet another up-and-coming Dutch producer to storm onto the scene recently. His latest song, “Looking For Love,” features a smooth progressive house lead-in layered under Fenja’s vocals and a heavy synth drop. Slated for release this Monday on Cr2 Records, it should come as no surprise that this catchy club track has garnered support from the likes of Nicky Romero and MYNC. Check out the preview below and hold tight for the full-length track early next week..
