Sander van Doorn set to perform at Pacha NYC on New Year’s Eve

onsale2

New York’s already stacked December 31st lineup just got even crazier with the announcement that Sander van Doorn will be ringing in the New Year at Pacha. With all the talent scheduled in the big apple, dance music fans have a difficult choice to make, but SvD is at the top of our list. His Electric Zoo set was one of our favorite performances from the festival and we were floored the last time we saw him at Pacha.

New Years should be a time of new beginnings and exploration, so this might be the perfect night if you’ve never seen him before . Tickets go on sale today at 5PM via Pacha.

Feed Me ditches the teeth, plays an intimate set at Pacha NYC

feed-me-49

Last Sunday, the man behind the teeth, Jon Gooch, made his first ever appearance in the hallowed halls of Pacha NYC – joining the nearly endless list of talent that have blown out the speakers at New York’s largest club. Despite the Sunday night tim

e slot and his 1am start time, Pacha’s main dance floor was packed to the brim with die-hard bassheads eager to get their dose of Feed Me’s signature guttural groans and wobbles. The club, as is to be expected on a Sunday night, was decidedly less hectic than Friday or Saturday, allowing for true fans to force their way front and center.

Norman Doray and Nervo give us ‘Something To Believe In’ with new video, track release

We’ve come to expect a certain kind of sound when it comes to Nervo tracks, but their latest collaboration with Norman Doray is something refreshingly different. “Something To Believe In” doesn’t have the girls on vocals, but instead brings in Cookie for a soulful, anthemic topline. The video is shot at Neptunes Beach Club in the Hamptons and at Pacha NYC, showcasing an atypical — but enviable — lifestyle that admittedly looks pretty awesome. The track itself has old school disco vibes and feels like a very big tune. As the summer music season comes to a close, releases like this have us excited for fall.

as part of the Size Matters squad. Well, this year he returned to the island along with a new crew, new label, and new material — and this time around, he was the star of the show. Actually, he was the star of two shows, having played at Pacha NYC the night before.

Safe to say that New York was poised to receive two very special shows from one of the most exciting DJs — and most versatile producers — in the game. He delivered, in a big way.

Paige makes Pacha NYC debut with Deborah Cox and Nari & Milani this Friday

Paige-Pacha-NYC

Though the summer is unfortunately drawing to a close, the parties and club events show no sign of slowing down. This Friday, August 17th, up-and-coming New York DJ/producer Paige will make his headlining Pacha debut — and if you haven’t yet heard his name yet, you can expect that to change over the next year. He has already played gigs at Governors Island and even EDC New York, so he is bringing along some friends to make his big Pacha NYC evening even more special: Deborah Cox will deliver live vocals from her upcoming track with Paige, “Higher,”  (and a special rendition of “Leave The World Behind”), while Nari and Milani will bring their special blend of electro house to bring an edgier vibe. If you’re around New York this weekend and looking to experience a new type of progressive house show, head over to Pacha NYC on Friday. We doubt you’ll regret the decision.

DA hosts Thomas Gold’s return to Pacha NYC this Saturday: win a free table, or get on our list

TG-Pacha-DA

It’s no secret that we at Dancing Astronaut are big fans of the German mega-DJ Thomas Gold, and we are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting his return to the one and only Pacha NYC this Saturday, August 11th. Of course, we want our readers to party in style, so one grand prize winner will win a VIP table for four people with a complimentary bottle of champagne — or energy drinks for the under 21 crowd. As if that wasn’t good enough, it will also come with a Pacha gift bag filled with various kinds of merch (and you just might find some DA gear in there as well).

Even if you aren’t lucky enough to take home the grand prize, we have also secured a guest list to give everyone the chance to see one of the most entertaining DJs out there at one of New York’s best clubs. Anyone 21+ will receive $10 admission before midnight, and 19-20 will have reduced cover. To put yourself on the list, go here, and don’t forget to say Dancing Astronaut at the guest list door.

Breaking Beekman: Pacha NYC’s big night with Eric Prydz doesn’t go according to plan

DSC_0603

Though it took until the week of to sell out, expectations ran alarmingly high for Eric Prydz’ return to New York City. On the day of the show, nearly every dance music enthusiast without tickets was clamoring for a last minute chance to see the one and only Pryda.

While there was no shortage of hype for the show, there was a shortage of space at the venue, Beekman Beach Club, which filled up quickly and felt at or near-capacity by midnight. If you did your homework, this wouldn’t have been a surprise; Beekman has had its fair share of misfortunes this summer. Unfortunately for excited Pryda fans in New York City, the night did not exactly go according to plan.
