The French Express label, self-proclaimed “protectors of the feel good,” are back with their latest release from Jonas Rathsman. “Bringing You Down,” a whirling, garage-tinged track with soulful call-and-repeat vocals, first popped on my radar during Jonas and label mate Perseus’s excellent Essential Mix (the first of 2013, if you’re curious). French Express has come to serve as a trusted source for the highest quality funky and soulful house music out there, and this release is no different.
Sunday Morning Medicine is a feature from Dancing Astronaut dedicated to the mellower side of electronic music. We bring you our favorite therapeutic selections — old and new — in an attempt to alleviate the agonizing effects of a long weekend of partying.
Call it editorial bias, call it spontaneity, but we can’t help but feature an exclusively deep house edition of Sunday Morning Medicine this week. Something about that sub-120 bpm house is so damn sexy! This week features French Express artists Perseus and Chris Malinchak, as well as beautiful originals from Moullinex, Bicep, and DA favorite Disclosure.
If you missed any of last week’s more melodic releases, make sure to check out Russ Chime’s impressive Radio 1 Minimix, Audien’s Above and Beyond-approved “Wayfarer,” and the seventh installment of Eric Prydz’s Epic Radio. For five tracks to make your morning a bit deeper, click past the break.
