Following up last fall’s huge “Phat Brahms” collaboration comes a remix package with a list of names even longer. Dim Mak has released a nine-track remix EP of the Steve Aoki & Angger Dimas vs. Dimitiri Vegas & Like Mike tune that includes reworks from everyone from Bro Safari & UFO to Tom Swoon. Though each remix keeps the Brahm’s Hungarian Dance No. 5 riff, Coone’s rework makes it hardstyle, Botnek lays the builds thick and Clinton VanSciver gives it a heavy dose of bass. Wolfpack, ColdBlank and 3BallMTY also throw their hats in the ring, so if you enjoyed the original you have plenty of options in choosing your favorite remix.

Steve Aoki, Angger Dimas, Dimitri Vegas, and Like Mike’s “Phat Brahms” is now available on Beatport. We previewed the track last week, but the foursome’s take on Johannes Brahms’ “Hungarian Dance Number 5″ is officially out in its original mix form. If you need refresher, the guys take the original classic melody, and infuse it with electro synths, gritty basslines, and bring it to a place that Mr. Brahms’ most surely never intended. That’s what we like about dance music though — there are no boundaries in terms of what you can create, and the track can even be seen as an homage of-sorts to the 19th Century composer. Hey, the album art is pretty entertaining too.

Steve Aoki and Angger Dimas team up with Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike for “Phat Brahms,” an unassuming track with an instantly recognizable hook that samples Johannes Brahms’ “Hungarian Dance Number 5.” Steve Aoki dropped this track in the middle of his Electric Zoo set, and it is also featured prominently in Dimitri and Mike’s Tomorrowland Aftermovie. Between the classical sampling and the hard electro drops, this sort of reminds us of Zedd’s “Dovregubben.” When the track is finally released this Tuesday on Dim Mak, it will be yet another high-energy release from the cake-slinging maestro. Grab it on Beatport starting Tuesday.
