Laidback Luke is known to experiment as the label head of MixMash Records, often gambling on young talent with his The Ones To Watch series. Furthermore, Luke rolls the dice on yet another growing phenomenon, the genre of trap that has taken the dance music world by storm with a recent slew of provocative remixes.
The extended play — simply titled, MixMash Trap EP – begins with Oh Snap’s spin of the infamous “Turbulence” collaboration, and continues with a brand new original production from Oliver Twizt dubbed “3Chainz.” Next comes the brand new Saint Liz remix of Luke’s “Break The House Down,” and newcomer Twinz Beats is introduced with his own “Bass Gone Drop.” Jump below the break to listen to the breakthrough offerings in full.
New comer Saint Liz, hit the ground running in 2012 to prove his Dutch productions could stand with some of the dance music elite. Following his release of “Voodoo” alongside Jacob van Hage earlier this year, Saint Liz is back to give listeners more hard-hitting electro-house vibes. “Utopia” which was released via Sander Van Doorn‘s mini-imprint Doorn Records today, starts off with a slow synth-driven build before Saint Liz speeds up the tempo to finish the track with an echoing boom.
Sporting a versatile sound, Jacob van Hage’s progressive productions flirt with subgenres across dance music ranging from electro to deep house. Hits like “Spotfire,” “Convoi,” and “EMP” have earned van Hage his reputation as a producer, and his next single takes it a step further. Another hard-hitting track, “Voodoo” demonstrates consistent progression and moves into a tribal drop that compliments its melodic undertones. Fresh for the dance floor, listen to Jacob van Hage’s deep new single and head to Beatport for the official release.
Tracks like “Convoi,” “Spotfire,” and “EMP,” have put Jacob van Hage on the map as one of the breakthrough artists of the year. His production skills aren’t limited to one genre – as you see signs of trance, dubstep, electro, and house, in all of his productions. This time he comes together with Saint Liz to offer up a small teaser of the upcoming track, “Voodoo.” Slated to release on Sander van Doorn’s highly regarded Spinnin Records, this drum-heavy song has a pulsing melody that has us excited to hear more. According to van Hage, once he reaches 5,500 likes on his Facebook page, he’ll upload a lengthier preview. Until then, stay tuned for more!
