Pete Tong and Reboot deliver Balearic sounds on All Gone Future Sounds compilation

Dance music’s resident tastemaker Pete Tong and Cadenza darling Reboot have teamed up to deliver a lovely compilation album for those of us impatient for next summer’s Ibiza season to begin. With Tongy taking on the first side of All Gone Future Sounds and Reboot following second, the two have chosen a wide variety of house and techno tracks that have either already caught on in our community or deserve a bit more attention (thus the “future sounds” label).

If you’re a regular listener of the Essential Selection or Cadenza podcasts, many of these choices should come as no surprise. In addition to his own recent productions like his remix of Alt-J’s “Something Good” and Hot Since 82‘s remix of his “Dawn,” Tong features tracks from Justin Martin, Finnebassen, Fauvrelle, and Eats Everything — to name a few. Reboot keeps it tropical with choices from Behrouz, Carlo Lio, Sascha Dive, and Nic Fanciulli. We only have a teaser for you this time, but click through the break to check it out with a tracklist.

Beatport’s ‘First’ charts from Obama, Romney, Ronaldo, and Depp blur the line between truth and satire

What we first thought may have been a joke, is probably still a joke. Both yesterday and today, Beatport “First charts” started popping up all over the site – some more believable than others. While it’s feasible to us that Johnny Depp would be into a playlist that features appearances from underground stars like Kate Simko and Nina Kraviz, it’s less likely that good ol’ Mittens listened to Cedric Gervais’s “Molly” on the campaign trail or that Obama is a huge Ben Gomori fan. What do you guys think? Is it all a ruse from our friends over at Beatport?  Check out all of the “charts” after the break.
