The Opium Group, the conglomerate representing Miami clubs Mansion, Cameo, Set, and Mokai, has just announced their first phase of Miami Music Week parties. So far Opium has only shared details about these eight shows at four clubs for the week of March 19 through March 24th, but there are sure to be many more events dribbling in the lead up to Ultra, WMC, and MMW. There’s a little something for everyone: Afrojack and his Jacked party, John Digweed and Bedrock, Umek and his 1605 crew, James Zabiela and Born Electric homies, John Dahlback and other Mutants, and Arty, Morgan Page, and Robbie Rivera to boot. Bring it on Miami.
Deadmau5 recently played an intimate secret show for 200 fans at the Sonos Studio in Hollywood. If you didn’t happen to be one of the lucky 200 to attend the show, you can still hear Deadmau5′s full performance if you tune into KCRW at 11:15am PT. Fans not based on the West Coast can still hear the full 90 minute mix on demand later today via KCRW’s website. A low point at this years EDC Las Vegas was Mat Zo’s absence at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy stage. Hours of bumper to bumper traffic plagued day one forcing Zo to miss his set. Kaskade has released his set from Coachella 2012 as a free download on SoundCloud. People were pretty upset when his set was not streamed online from Ultra, so hopefully this makes up for that. The set is full of mashups new and old, and should get you pretty excited for his upcoming Freaks of Nature Tour. You can hear Kaskade pumping up the crowd throughout the set along with the crowd’s respective roar, and the entire 90 minute set is pure bliss. Hopefully some other artists will follow suit and release their sets online as well, but for now, major brownie points for Kaskade.
Afrojack very recently played at the INOX festival in France and dropped a ton of new tracks. Afrojack just posted the set and referenced the above video saying it was a new track he had just finished. Enjoy.
