Despite a huge critical success in 2012, Todd Terje is definitely not resting on his laurels in 2013. Today the Norweigan producer/DJ released “Lanzarote,” a bit of a tribute to the start of a great partnership with fellow countryman Lindstrøm. The two have already announced their impending partnership for a live touring show this summer, scheduled to hit big festivals like Sonar.
“Lanzarote” offers a look back at past summer seasons as well as look forward to a blissed-out, synthed-out, disco-groovy tune. The full track clocks in at almost nine minutes and leaves us wondering when we’ll be able to book our next flight to the Canary Islands with a bunch of jolly Scandinavians. American transplant Jon Gaiser is arguably one of the most unique and exciting artists to emerge from Berlin’s vaunted techno scene. Although he now calls the German capital (and Richie Hawtin’s M-nus label) home, Gaiser received a steady diet of Detroit techno while growing up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His old school roots still show in his minimal bass-driven productions and carefully crafted arrangements. Click past the break for more on Jon Gaiser’s stellar set at the 2012 Sonar Festival
If you haven’t familiarized yourself with the two biggest studs coming out of the French techno scene, then here is the perfect forum to do so. Rules don’t apply to these two – cigarettes lit at all times. Since last year’s Holy Ship, the buzz has piqued the interest of many; and with the continued domination of Brodinski’s Bromance imprint, we see no slowing in sight.
