London-based talent Eden Anderson, better known under his Special Features moniker, has continued to ascend the industry ladder at an impressive pace. Fresh out of university and already heralding signings to Phazing and Big Beat alike, the British talent takes Australian duo The Aston Shuffle’s recently unveiled indie dance triumph “Can’t Stop Now” for a remix under the guise of his melodic penchant. With the original’s formative top line immaculately maintained, Andreson ignites the original with subtle peak time energy and high-end synthwork, giving the Australian duo’s latest creation a strong club-primed re-imagining. Joining the ranks of Matisse & Sadko for official remix duties, this high-octane re-rub speaks wonders of the young British talent and his increasingly impressive studio output to date.
Ellie Goulding’s irresistible vocal stylings are built for electronic reworks and her latest album Halycon has served as the perfect host for countless remixes since its release. Continuing on with this trend and hot off the debut of his first original single “Illusions,” UK dance music talent Special Features takes on Ellie’s latest single “Only You.” Complimenting Ellie’s soulful vocal stylings with lush harmonies and his own distinctive progressive house style, Special Features skillfully weaves an intricately emotive outing, one that ebbs and flows with warm melodies and masterfully engineered tension.
In the same vein as his 2012 offering, “You & Me,” and his episode of Dancing Astronaut’s Axis, Special Features brings forth his latest production, “Illusions.” After a sabbatical from music making, his return to the studio proves worth the wait with thorough progression and crisp chords. Special Features boasts yet another catchy electronic styling, making “Illusions” an ideal track to kick off the spring with. Courtesy of Big Beat, Special Features is back in action and “Illusion” is his long-awaited splash of a return.
He hit us with a one-two punch back in July; first dropping his acclaimed “You & Me,” then following up with a mix for Dancing Astronaut’s Axis. Eight months later, Special Features has returned with a preview of his next release, “Illusions.” Just telling by the track’s snippet, the producer hasn’t been lackadaisical throughout his hiatus, as he’s arranged a clean-cut progressive track with a new dimension. “Illusions” is slated to hit the release circuit on April 8th via Big Beat.
Special Features just released a fantastic remix package for his first solo original track, “You & Me.” The package, which is available as a free download on his Facebook page, features Norway’s rising star, Coucheron, and Los Angeles based Clinton VanSciver.
After huge guest mixes from the likes of Nicky Romero and Arty, Dancing Astronaut’s own Jared F is back with the twelfth episode of Axis just in time to start your weekend. Following Jared’s mix, we’ve also got an exclusive mini-mix from Special Features. Click past the break for more.
As we promised you from our first “Best Of The Rest,” Special Features released his newest progressive tune “You and Me” as a free download today. Special Features has been blowing up since his beatport favorite “Synergy” alongside Michael Brun, and noteworthy remixes to “Feel So Close” and “Strobe.” Impressively sticking to his progressive roots, Special Features takes you on a lovely journey with “You and Me.” Using many highs and lows, there practically isn’t a pitch Special Features doesn’t reach with his extremely melodic synths. We are certainly looking forward to more club gems and free downloads like this from the up and coming London based producer.

Michael Brun and Special Features’ “Synergy” is officially available after a cool, trippy preview was released last week. The track has a distinctly big-room feel to it, but as we mentioned last week it also bears some resemblance to Afrojack & David Guetta’s “Lunar.” There’s a long escalating progression until it hits the drop, at which point you’re presented with banging synths that aren’t too overbearing but are still big. Brun’s last single “Rise” got a lot of airplay from some big name DJs, and we have a feeling that “Synergy” could see similar success.
Michael Brun has attracted a good bit of attention for his song “Rise,” and he is following it up with a new track called “Synergy.” A collaboration with Special Features, the track has a similar sort of sound as Afrojack & David Guetta’s “Lunar” — with quick, repeating chords and a building bassline. The teaser video is uncharacteristically artistic, and was actually created by two film students who cleverly end it right before the drop. Thankfully, however, you can hear it in the SoundCloud preview below ahead of its April 18th release on Phazing Records.
