The Stafford Brothers and Dancing Astronaut present Something Big Episode #007 featuring Thomas Gold
Now in its 7th episode, the Stafford Brothers’ Something Big radioshow has featured guest mixes from some of the biggest producers in dance music today. Episode 7, proudly presented by Dancing Astronaut, takes you behind the scenes and into the studio with our Essential Mix of the Year winner, Thomas Gold. Thomas gives us insight into his collaborations and his approach to production, all while spinning the tracks that have defined his career thus far. From Dirty South and Deniz Koyu’s “Halo” to Benny Benassi and Pink is Punk’s latest “Ghost,” Thomas and the Australian duo mix a collection of tracks that have defined the dance music conversation in the past few months. Matt and Chris Stafford have taken their production talents straight through mainstream culture and into the hands of Lil Wayne. Their latest production, “Hello,” features a verse from Wayne and a chorus from singer Christina Milian for a genre-defying commercial record. This week, Cash Money Records has released the track’s remix package with stellar renditions from Dannic, Morten Breum, and Henrix – who is giving away his take for free – among others.
Australian duo, the Stafford Brothers, have already had their own reality TV show and now are signing to hip-hop mogul Birdman’s Cash Money Records. This isn’t the first time we have seen a cross over between electronic and hip-hop artists, as Sander Van Doorn joined Roc Nation just a few months ago. The Stafford Brothers are not wasting any time and are already collaborating with Lil Wayne and Christina Milian on “Hello.” You can listen to a preview of “Hello” past the break, and the track will be out soon on Cash Money Records.
Vodka with Tommy Trash. Champagne with Christina Milian and Will I Am. Sound like your Friday night? It does if you’re one of the Stafford Brothers. The Aussie natives and recent LA transplants know how to throw a party, complete with a DJ-packed guestlist and killer setlist. How do we know? Click past the break to find out.
Dirty Dutch kingpin Sidney Samson and Stealth-Records owner Roger Sanchez teamed up on their latest track, “Flashing Lights,” which was released with a remix package yesterday. After touring together in 2010 and sharing a residency at Space Ibiza, to us it’s a shock that it took so look for these two to collaborate. Regardless, “Flashing Lights” is worth the wait. Featuring a throbbing bassline and bouncy synth that leads into a bass-heavy drop, this track is perfect for either laying back at home with your headphones on or blasting through the speakers of a crowded club. The release is accompanied by a remix package that includes versions from Roger Sanchez, Sidney Samson, Kid Massive, and Stafford Brothers. Give the original a listen and check past the break to hear the remixes.
