The Frederik – Heavy Crownage (Original Mix)

THEFREDERIK1

At just 21 years of age, Danish electro producer, The Frederik, has already been making a name for himself with deftly-produced and tightly wound electronica. His debut release on Pilot Recordings - the founder of UKF, Luke Hood’s brand new label - is an impressive freshman effort from the up-and-comer. The young producer swears off MIDI controllers, creating his monstrous productions on hardware synths and analogue processors – a sound he describes as “rusty machines running on steam.”  The title cut on the five track EP is deceptively heavy, combining The Frederik’s classically trained ear for harmony with a modern day spin on dirty dub-heavy electro. At times frantic, “Heavy Crownage” toys with elements of light and dark to create a cacophony of guttural groans and soaring arpeggios.

The Frederik's ‘Delirium’

Frederik Olufsen is hitting the music industry hard – his recent “launch” at the Mau5trap pool party during MMW has led to him releasing his first single, “Delirium.” The song starts out with an long, hard, and fast-paced electro build and then drops into a heavy wobbled bass. The sound is something that resembles a unique blend of Wolfgang Gartner and Deadmau5. It has an epic build that never seems to end, but eventually the deep drop does arrive. The track is available for free download through Mau5trap’s SoundCloud, and given Deadmau5′s personal pimping of late, we will probably be seeing more from The Frederik before long.
