With a new artist album on the way, The Knocks have been providing some proper canvases for remixes as of late. Goldroom takes the reins on “Modern Hearts” — the first single off the album — using St. Lucia’s emotive vocals to add an upbeat and euphoric element on top. This re-crafted nu disco cut is more than an electronically infused remix, it’s also a meticulously developed transformation into the pastures of quality feel-good music. What’s even better: it’s being given away as a free download. Head to The Knocks’ Facebook page to get your copy today.

Right in line with the recent heat wave to hit their homebase of New York City, The Knocks find themselves teaming up with St. Lucia to provide summery indie vibes on “Modern Hearts.” Known for their impeccably crisp indie dance aesthetics, the tandem craft crystalline arpeggios that flutter in the background of island-inspired percussion. Framed by a nu disco groove and dabs of progressive chordplay, “Modern Hearts” is a digital dose of vitamin D.

Los Angeles producer Josh Legg, better known as Goldroom, released his latest single “Only You Can Show Me” early in March and in a short period of time racked up an impressive number of plays on Soundcloud, Hype Machine, and even grabbed Pitchfork’s attention for the incredibly charming single with Mereki Beach. The Knocks, straight out of Manhattan, have taken hold of the Goldroom original and managed to inject it with just the right amount of jazzy disco funk. Goldroom’s productions seem to get better and better every time he releases something new, and adding in that extra attitude that The Knocks are known for only further solidifies his bright future. Like what you’re hearing? Good news — Goldroom is about to embark on a tour too.

Ok fine, even though it’s almost November we’re still hanging on to the last sweet memories of summer. Care to join us? Conveniently enough LA-based Ecto Cooler’s Sensational Summer Sunshine mix wraps up sunshine, bliss, and freedom into a tightly mixed one hour happy-go-lucky package. Relive some of the biggest festival hits of the summer (“Redline,” “Nothing Inside,” or “Walls,” anyone?) and be pleasantly surprised by lesser-known anthems as well (TheFatRat’s remix of “Brightside,” not sure nu disco has seen a happier tune). For you bassheads out there, Ecto Cooler also treated us with a womp-heavy sister mix, the Starlight version. Check out the full tracklist after the break and indulge in some summer nostalgia.

Indie dance music mavens, The Knocks have delivered another sonic symphony with their remix of indie gem, “Sleep Alone.” The steady and energetic beat acts as the perfect complement to the slow-paced chorus. By utilizing a deep house aesthetic accompanied by Alex Trimble’s unique vocal cuts, these New York-based producers have created an evocative soundscape out of the Two Door Cinema Club original.
