The Presets – Goodbye Future (Wordlife Remix)
Following up their 2013 hit album Pacifica, The Presets take on 2014 with the release of their single "Goodbye Future." Enlisting the talented Wordlife for remix duties, The Presets latest output gets a stunning rework from the fellow Aussie. Twisting and chopping Julian Hamilton's vocals, Wordlife transforms the slow-moving original into a bouncy and stutter-filled indie dance gem. A gripping deep bass line and a tasteful approach to the entire process, the remix honors the original's melancholic integrity with a pulsing synthetic undercoat designed with dirty dancefloors in mind. "Goodbye Future" is the first of a series of new singles that The Presets will be releasing in 2014, with Aston Shuffle, Ilan Bluestone and Wordlife all contributing to the single's remix package.
Good Morning Mix: The Presets May Tour 2013 Mixtape
A strange blend of tracks from all sides of the dance music spectrum, including cuts from Seth Troxler and Sidney Samson, The Presets - Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes - lay out a funky framework for their US tour. The tour's supporting cast, Classix and Dragonette bring "All You're Waiting For" and "Hello" to the mix while the two brits piece together an hour long sampling of strange synth pop and mechanical techno. Smothered in a smog of low end buzzing and a nearly endless cascade of reverb the two showcase a collection of tracks from nu-disco to post-industrial. At times bright and others dark and foreboding, The Presets May mixtape is much like their original work - uncompromising in its definition of genre.
The Presets – Fall (Hook N Sling Mix) [Preview]
Hook N Sling follows up on the runaway success of his collaboration with Nervo, "Reason" with a remix of The Presets' indie dance gem, "Fall." Hook adds some much needed oomph to the track, brightening the tone with a highly developed melody while still showcasing Julian Hamilton's evocative top line. The addition of big room chordplay and a subtle rhythm evolve "Fall" from its indie appeal to newfound main stage viability.
The Presets – Fall (Erick Rincon Remix)
20-year-old Erick Rincon has been developing his unique sound of tribal electronica since the age of 16, adapting his South American roots with modern production techniques to create a style that melds indigenous vibes with 21st century aesthetics. Implanting a wide breadth of percussion elements into The Presets' "Fall," Erick transforms the melancholy track into a stuttering, yet punctual, groove driven outing, matching Julian Hamilton's vocals with a hypnotic shakers and drum rolls.
