We’ve gone over the biggest artists, albums, and tracks of 2012, but our end of the year roundup really wouldn’t be complete unless we talked about our own favorites from this year. These are the songs that made us feel, gave us chills, made us party, and made us cry. You’d probably find these tracks with high play counts in our music libraries and dripping with nostalgia if you make us talk about them further.
In anticipation of Paris & Simo’s upcoming release “Time,” they are teasing the track with a Sultan & Ned Shepard edit on YouTube. “Time” is a slightly softer and more melodic take on Paris & Simo’s typical sound, but does not stray far from the synthy, progressive work we’ve come to expect from the duo. As the preview video suggests, the track gets dance floors packed, so it’s no surprise that the Canadian producers have been dropping it in sets for the past year.
Luckily, you don’t have to wait much longer to get your hands on it; “Time” will be released this Monday, November 12th on Harem Records. Look for it exclusively on Beatport.
Fresh off his Voyager/Found EPon the Pryda Friends imprint, Andre Sobota comes back with yet another two-track progressive house release. Sobota shows no signs of simmering down as his latest release, “Surrounded” and “Time,” are progressive house gems in their finest form. The lead track on the EP features euphoric synths and graceful melodies, constructed from start to finish with flawless progression. “Time” starts off dark and heavy with stabbing chords and bounces into a melodic pattern of kicks and snares. This EP demonstrates Andre’s superb ability to venture outside the confines of a given genre and deliver some of the best music production we’ve seen in quite some time.
