Last Valentine’s Day season, Usher released his single with Diplo, “Climax.” This season, the super duo is giving away “Go Missin’,” the lead single’s 2013 sequel. Once again, Diplo provides a sexy, bouncy beat with subtle slaps to give way to the seductive singing from Usher Raymond. Enjoyable as a free download, this follow up collaboration may indicate that the Grammy-nominated producer will have a slot on Usher’s next full-length release — whenever that day comes.

To no surprise, David Guetta has once again mastered the airwaves with his production for Ludacris and Usher, “Rest Of My Life.” The pop tune is no longer limited to the subtle touches of electronic energy, as Nicky Romero, Hard Rock Sofa, and Daddy’s Groove have taken their turns for the remix package. Nicky picks up where David left off, giving the track a boost behind the chords, while Hard Rock Sofa make the vocals their own around gritty synth layers. Daddy’s Groove also takes “Rest Of My Life” a step further from the radio, injecting slaps and bass kicks suited for the dance floor.

The last time Hard Rock Sofa remixed a David Guetta production, they sent “Just One Last Time” to the top of Beatport’s Top 10 chart with a big room hit for the books. The Russian squad is back in action, taking Ludacris and Usher’s airwave dominating “Rest Of My Life” for a spin. Transforming Guetta’s commercially inclined production, Hard Rock Sofa swaps the sound you’ve heard on the radio for a progressive, acid line, and while complimented by Usher’s hook, Ludacris’ rap verses are removed from the equation. With no release date in sight, enjoy “Rest Of My Life” in a new respect with the preview.
LA-based producer Clockwork emerged onto the dance music scene in 2011 and yesterday marked 30,000 fan likes on his Facebook page. In honor of the milestone, the producer most known for his mash-ups and remixes gave away his 30k Bootleg Pack, to help celebrate the occasion. We heard his 15k Bootleg Pack back in September and now we will expect an entertaining remix compilation every time the producer gains another 15,000 fans. This time, he mashes up some of the biggest tracks of 2012 with some underground surprises, creating hard-hitting outputs ready for the dance floor. Clockwork gives tracks like Usher‘s “Climax” and Deadmau5‘ “Veldt” an entirely new power that will carry on into the new year.

In an effort to satisfy fans until the release of “Time,” Canadian duo Paris & Simo are debuting a remix for download – exclusively on Dancing Astronaut. First previewed in their Axis Mix, Paris & Simo take on Usher‘s “Numb” and transform it into blissful progressive house. We may have grown accustomed to Usher’s dance friendly vocals but with an entirely reworked bassline and added euphoric builds, this track has become something different. This is progressive house that just makes you want to jump to your feet and dance. You can listen to the track below but don’t hesitate to download it, this one is worth adding to your library.
The poster child of the American ‘mainstream’ dance music movement is back with a new album — or rather, an update to his last album. Nothing But The Beat 2.0 is David Guetta’s latest take on the current music landscape. Rather than call it an ‘update,’ it’s actually more of a revamp, selecting the most popular songs from last year’s release and adding in a selection of newer dance tracks. To balance out the pop influences from the likes of Akon, Sia, and Usher, Guetta brings in more dance-heavy talents, including Alesso, Daddy’s Groove, and the Nervo twins.

We never expected Usher tracks to become the norm in the dance remix world, but alas this is the case. His most recent tracks — “Climax,” “Numb,” and “Euphoria” — were all produced by dance artists and subsequently remixed in the same fashion. Now Ken Loi is throwing his hat in the proverbial Usher ring with a remix of his radio hit “Scream.” Loi takes the track from a saccharine sweet pop track to one fit for the dance floor by inserting a bass heavy, synth laden drop and various other dance elements. He’s also giving the track away for free as part of a series he’s dubbed “Free Music Friday,” so gear up for some more free tracks.

We knew that Usher had been working with electronic producers like Swedish House Mafia on his new album, Looking 4 Myself, and ”Scream” is the third single off of the album. A slew of housier remixes from various different electronic artists has begun to surface. R3hab, Pierce Fulton, Project 46, and Wax Motif, have all taken their turns turning the R&B electropop track into progressive house and electro bangers.
