Steve Aoki is reportedly embroiled in a cake-related lawsuit

Steve Aoki is often decried for his cake-throwing ways. Normally, dissenters who raise the topic are taking playful jabs at his performative abilities, implying that he values his bombastic stage presence over musical technique. However, it seems that Aoki’s confectionary vaulting antics may have now crossed the line. Complex reports the following:

“[Concert Attendee] Raymond Collins is suing Aoki for a cake-related injury sustained at one of his concerts in Las Vegas last March. Collins reportedly missed being pelted in the face, but managed to slip on the cake after it hit the ground, sustaining a ‘serious head injury.'”

Complex further reports that Collins is “seeking damages for loss of income, mental suffering, and loss of enjoyment of life,” and goes on to recall an incident last May, where his apparent concert staple of stage diving into a raft led to his breaking an attendee’s neck.

Aoki’s camp has yet to provide comment on the most recent incident. For the time being, it may be wise for Mr. Aoki to adhere to the tried and true adage, “It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt.”
